RESOLUTION NO. 2001-196
RESOLUTION DECLARING A VACANCY ON
THE HISPANIC AFFAIRS ADVISORY BOARD.
WHEREAS, Collier County Ordinance No. 91-37, creating the Hispanic Affairs Advisory
Board, provided that the Advisory Board shall consist of seven (7) members; and
WHEREAS, Collier County Ordinance No. 91-78 amended Ordinance No. 91-37 by
providing that the Advisory Board shall consist of nine (9) members; and
WHEREAS, Collier County Ordinance No. 86-41, as amended, provides that any board
member who is absent from two consecutive meetings without a satisfactory excuse acceptable
to the board chairman, such fact shall be stated for the record and notification shall be made to
the Board of County Commissioners at a Commission meeting, and if the Board of County
Commissioners concur with the statements of the Committee, the Board of County
Commissioners shall declare the position to be vacant; and
WHEREAS, after discussion by the Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board at their regular
meeting of April 26, 2001, the Board has advised the Board of County Commissioners that Leo
R. Cardona has failed to comply with the requirements set forth in Ordinance No. 86-41, as
amended, and has requested that the Board of County Commissioners declare that the seat held
by Leo R. Cardona be vacant on their Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that after consideration of the facts
presented, the Board of County Commissioners hereby declares the seat of Leo R. Cardona to be
vacant on the Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second and majority vote.
