WHEREAS, Golden Gote High School Junior Reserve Officers' Training Carps (JROTC) was farmed
in 2004 when Golden Gote High School first opened: and,
WHEREAS, this progrcun is designed to teach high school students the value of citizenship,
leackrship, service to the community, personal responsibility. and a sense of
accamplishment, wht1e instilling in them self-esteem, teamwar/<, and self-discipline:
and.
WHEREAS, silla 2004, cadets have volunteered aver 15,000 hours fa the school and local
cammunity thraugh events such as Relay far Life, Hearfwalk, Golden Gote City and
CQlUJI delHI-Ups, Health Screening at local 'elementary and mieldle schools, Veterans
Day activities, Parades, Elementary schaal !flrl'aring and reading, Cbl/ege Night, and
Color Guard support at Q YClriety of events and activities: and.
WHeREAS, this progt'D/fI is Olle of the f.w in Collier County witlr an detive bo"ster club, and
JROTC ptlrents volunteered aver 4,000 haurs since 2004: and,

WH€REAS, this program has betm instrumental in our community and has been Q very big factor

WHEREAS, First Sergeant George Harvey and Lieuten"'lt Colonel Paul Gorrah were recagnized in
