EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to Award Bid #09-5159, Casegoods for the New Collier
County Emergency Services Center to The Beaux-Arts Group in the amount
of $239,702.77
OBJECTIVE: To provide the furniture (casegoods) items included in the new
Emergency Services Center project scope.
CONSIDERATIONS: On September 9, 2008 The Board of County
Commissioners directed staff to solicit competition for the purchase of the
furniture for the new Emergency Services Center. Accordingly, staff and the ESC
project architect developed three (3) separated bid packages.
One of these packages, Bid# 09-5157 was posted by the Purchasing Department
on November 6, 2008 and electronic notifications were sent to sixty-seven (67)
registered firms with twenty-six (26) firms downloading the bid document and
nine (9) firms submitting proposals. This bid package was issued as a two-step
bid methodology with Step 1, Technical Specifications due on November 17,
2008. The nine (9) submissions were received from: Corporate Express, Holmes
and Brakel, Krueger International, Marco Office Supply, NBB Office
Environments, Office Furniture and Design, The Beaux-Arts Group, Today's
Business Interiors and Workplace Resource and evaluated for compliance with
the project specifications by staff and the Project Architect's Registered Interior
Designer. The four (4) firms meeting the specifications were notified on
November 21, 2008 with the Step 2, Price Submittals due on December 1, 2008.
Price submittals were received from three (3) firms with The Beaux-Arts Group
being the lowest responsive and responsible bidder meeting the specifications.
FISCAL IMPACT: The costs for this recommended award are within the
allowances for these items in the Project Budgets and the associated
Departmental Budgets to which costs will be allocated.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed and approved by the
County Attorney's Office. This item is not quasi judicial, and as such ex parte
disclosure is not required. This item requires majority vote only. This item
is legally sufficient for Board action. - CMG
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no impact on the Growth
Management Plan.

RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissions award Bid# 09-
5159, Casegoods for the Collier County Emergency Services Center to The
Beaux-Arts Group in the amount of $239,702.77. A County numbered purchase
order will be utilized as the form of contract.
