A RESOLUTION CLARIFYING THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE
COLLIER COUNTY COMMUNITY HEALTH CARE PLANNING
AND FINANCE COMMITTEE AND THE INCLUSION OF
MEDICAL AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERTS TO PARTICIPATE IN
THE COMMITTEE'S STUDY.
WHEREAS, on August 1, 2000, the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County
adopted Resolution No. 2000-245 establishing the Collier County Community Health Care
Planning and Finance Committee as an ad hoc committee to (1) lead a broad based community
health care planning process, which includes a financial and economic analysis of program
recommendations submitted by the Community Health Care Review Committee, as well as
specific program recommendations made by its own members; (2) to identify the most
appropriate solutions to current and future community health care needs; (3) to quantify the cost
of these solutions; and (4) to determine the optimum mix of funding mechanisms to finance
proposed solutions, and
WHEREAS, in order for this Committee to complete its analysis and provide a
comprehensive report to the Board of County Commissioners, the Committee will need to
consult with experts of various medical and professional affiliations within the Community; and
WHEREAS, the primary purpose of listing the medical affiliations referenced in Resolution
No. 2000-245 and Resolution No. 2000-286 were to identify the expert consultants the
Committee considered to be necessary in order to provide an accurate and comprehensive report
to the Board of County Commissioners.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board hereby clarifies
that the composition of membership of the Collier County Health Care Planning and Finance
Committee is as follows:
Certified Public Accountants & Financial Specialists
Commercial & Investment Bankers
Health & Insurance Actuaries, Underwriters & Brokers
Health Care Attorneys & Consultants
Managed Care Specialists
Appropriate members of the Health Care Review Committee
Business Leaders
Community Leaders
The term of this Committee expires on August 1,2001.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners desires the
following entities to participate as expert consultants and advisors for this Committee:
Naples Community Hospital
Cleveland Clinic
Collier County Medical Society
Collier County Dental Association
Mental Health Association
Collier County Health Department
Department of Health Volunteer Coordinator
County Budget Director
Collier Health Services
Health Planning Council
Collier County Public Schools
Certified Public Accountant
