RESOLUTION NO. 09- 90
RESOLUTION BY THE BOARD 01" COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE
BAYSHORE BEAUTIFICATION MUNICIPAL SERVICE TAXING UNIT
(MSTU), DECLARING A PUBLIC PURPOSE FOR THE RECEIPT OF A
DONATION OF PLANT MATERIAL FROM AMERICAN FARMS FOR THE
BEAUTIFICATION OF MEDIAN STRIPS WITHIN PUBLIC RIGHTS-OF.
WAY WITHIN THE MSTU BOUNDARIES.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida (Board), as Governing
Body of the Bayshore Beautification Municipal Service Taxing Unit, wishes to accept donations of plant
material (300 plants-Kalanchoe Landscape Type "Veranda." 8 inches in height and 1002 plants-Euphorbia
"Katies Crown," 6 inches in height) from American Farms for the beautification of public rights-of-way within
the boundaries of the Bayshore Beautification MSTU area; and
WHEREAS, the Board finds the acceptance of the plant material from American Farms will provide a
public benefit through the provision of aesthetic enhancement of the area; and
WHEREAS, providing plantings and maintenance of median strips within public rights-of-way are in
accordance with the MSTU's charter as set forth in Subsection 122-2013 of the Collier County Code of Laws
and Ordinances (Ordinance Number 97-82. as amended); and
WHEREAS, the Bayshore MSTU Advisory Board voted at its March II, 2009 meeting to recommend
acceptance of the donation of the plant material valued in the amount of $3,910.50 from American Farms.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
The Board hereby finds that the donation of plant material (300 plants-Kalanchoe Landscape Type
"Veranda," 8 inches in height and 1002 plants-Euphorbia "Katies Crown," 6 inches in height) from American
Farms will serve a public purpose in that it will be utilized for the beautification and enhancement of public
rights-of way within the Bayshore MSTU boundaries.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
