WHEREAS, Brian Davenport, Sarah Davenport, and Matthew Hayes made an outstanding
contribution to Collier County by commiffing themselves to cleaning up trash in the
canals, preventing litter, and encouraging recycling in their Golden Gate neighborhood:
and,
WHEREAS, Brian, Sarah, and Maffhew made a positive difference to reduce the amount of solid
waste going to the landfill, and created a clean and affractive neighborhood by pulling
debris out of the canal to be recycled or reused: and.
WHEREAS, forty to sixty percent of roadside liffer consists of beverage containers that create
an aesthetic nuisance, ends up in canals, and threatens public safety and domestic
and wild animals: and.
WHEREAS, Brian, Sarah, and Matthew set an excellent example for other young citizens of
Collier County to make a difference in any community by preventing liffer and helping
to keep their community in a pristine state: and.
WHEREAS, young citizens of Collier County can do so much to prevent liffer in the community and
contribute to building a healthy and safe neighborhood by spending a liffle time pulling
garbage from the canals in their community.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
FlOrida, that Novtlmber 10, 2009, be designated as
KEEPING COLLIER NEIGHBORHOODS CLEAN AND SAFE DAY
aRd urging everyone to join Brian, Sarah and Maffhew in celebrating this day.
