Following up on our conversation earlier today, two of us, representing Naples Heritage Golf&
Country Club (NHGCC), are planning to be at Commissioner Fiala's office on Wednesday, June 5th
at 4:00 p.m. We are Ken Gaynor, Master Association President and Dick Rogan, Chairman of the
Community Relations Committee. We do not expect the meeting to last more than 30 minutes.
We would like to bring Commissioner Fiala up to date on a proposal we have coming before the
Board of Commissioners on June 25, 2019. This proposal is a replacement for one that was denied
in January, 2017. We believe that we have corrected the defect that was identified at that
time. As of this moment, we are also on the Collier County Planning Commission Agenda for June
6th and the South Florida Water Management District Agenda for June 13th.

Subject: Royal Wood renovations
Donna, I have been advised by representatives at Royal Wood that a few disgruntled owners are attempting to overturn
the will of the vast majority of remaining owners and scuttle the approved renovation project at our complex.Their
tactics seems to include that the Royal Wood Board of Directors lacks the authority to execute the lawfully approved
project and that somehow what we decide to do with the restaurant management affects the overall renovation. While I
am not an attorney, I have read the bylaws and believe they do indeed have this authority.
This disruption will only result in a delay in completing the project and additional costs to all the owners.These
disgruntled owners had every opportunity to convince us that the proposal should not be approved, but they failed as
the project was approved by an overwhelming margin.
The Board and several committees have work long and hard to get the final product, which included numerous meetings
and input from the owners, to this point. We need to move forward without further delay and therefore strongly urge
you the approve the Land Transfer at the next meeting in order that the appropriate permits can be secured ASAP.

I called Donna Fiala's office on 6/18/19 and spoke with her assistant, Mike, to express our views on the chaos that is
surrounding the Royalwood renovation project which Includes the land swap. We are in favor, and always have been,
for the renovation projects and land swap in RW. I am truly disappointed and fed up with the disgruntled, evil, and
childlike neighbors hiding behind their"mothers' aprons" who are holding the club hostage at this time. I would also
point out that they willingly paid their assessments in whole or in part with no prior protests written on their
checks! Our clubhouse and surrounding thereof are dated and inadequate. Like other clubs,we must continue keep up
with the times.
This negative group of individuals are affecting the majority of everyone's lives as well as our financial investments here.
They willingly bought into our community with their eyes wide open and knew that the majority always rules on votes
taken be they pro or con. Perhaps they had second thoughts about their ability to afford to live here. If, unfortunately
that is the case,they should consider moving to more comfortable surroundings.... as anyone in similar circumstances
would have to do.We must move forward!

dissidents to sabotage the royal wood clubhouse project. Several of the secret group played roles in
causing a negative vote for the first version of the project.This is the note I sent to my neighbours in

Good morning Andover neighbours, I hope everyone is having a good spring. Here, in my
part of Canada, it has been unseasonably cool and wet, hopefully nice weather will
arrive soon. I don't know if you are following the never ending saga of our Royal Wood
clubhouse, but I'm asking our condo community to help end a series of stall tactics by a
group of disgruntled Royal Wood residents.Apparently this group continues to oppose
the clubhouse project notwithstanding the overwhelming vote to move ahead with it. I
respect that not everyone was in support,just like our own car port project in Andover.
But, once our vote was over and the car ports were replaced my sense was that the
majority of us accepted the outcome and are pleased with the results.
That is not the case with the dissidents, they continue to distribute inaccurate
information and continue to challenge the Board on various matters.They have, with
some success, linked the decision to take the restaurant private with their ongoing
disagreement with the clubhouse project approval .They are separate issues and the
Board has announced that it will re visit the restaurant decision this Fall.
The most recent tactic was for one of this secret group to appear and the County
Commissioners meeting last week and successfully delay the transfer of lands between
the County and our Club.This means that the permits for the new construction cannot
be issued.The meeting can be viewed by going to the Collier County website.This delay
is costing every one of us money, in potential increased construction costs and
unneeded legal fees. Regardless of how each of us voted or feel about the project, the
bottom line is that a group of unhappy residents are holding themselves out to be
representative of Royal Wood and again, their actions are causing each and everyone of
us money and delays to the project.
I am suggesting that they do not represent me or many others with their negative
actions, regardless of our individual vote on the project. If you would like to see the
project move forward at the county level you do have a voice. Contact the local
Commissioner, Donna Fiala at 239-252-8601. Or Donna.fiala@colliercountyfl.gov.Ask
her to approve the land transfer at the next meeting and permit the project to proceed.
No one wins when individuals divide the community and refuse to accept the wishes of
the majority.The leader of the group refused to share the names of his secret society,

Hi Donna and was so sorry I was not here to see you when you came for the ground breaking for our clubhouse,fitness
center, new proshop etc. Was looking forward to catching up with you and everytime I use a Longaberger basket I think
of you. I have lived here at Royal Wood since 1993 and am so excited about our renovations and new construction.
The majority of us residents here at Royal Wood need your help. As you know the approval for the land transfer
between the County and Royal Wood was tabled by the Commissioners last Tuesday until June 25th when one of a small
secret group of owners (they refuse to furnish the names therefore I call them the secret group) was at your meeting
and voiced opposition. Their real gripe is with the decision to take the restaurant private when the new clubhouse is
complete not so much with the construction. Two separate issues. My concern with their behavior is that it will cost
me more money with potential increased construction costs and unneeded legal fees and delay the completion of our
project and me being able to enjoy the new amenities.
Please do what ever you can to get the Land Transfer approved at the June 25th meeting and share my plea with the
other Commissioners. Thanking you in advance.

My spouse and I own 4 condo units in Royal Wood Golf and Country Club. As you are likely aware,there is a land
transfer due to occur between Collier County and Royal Wood. Unfortunately a minority number of Royal Wood owners
are trying to prevent a renovation project that was properly voted on and approved by our owners and most recently
they appeared before a meeting of your Commission and were somehow able to stop the effecting of the land transfer
which is apparently a prerequisite to our project obtaining the necessary permits and moving ahead.
I am hereby asking you to finalize the land transfer ASAP and clear the way for our renovation project to move forward.
Please do not allow a disgruntled minority to continue blocking a democratically confirmed plan thereby risking
significantly increased costs by using your Commission as a pawn in their irresponsible undertaking.The majority of
Royal Wood owners supported the redevelopment project, have invested significant funds to finance the plan AND
WANT IT TO PROCEED!

tactics seems to include that the Royal Wood Board of Directors lacks the authority to execute the lawfully approved
project and that somehow what we decide to do with the restaurant management affects the overall renovation. While I
am not an attorney, I have read the bylaws and believe they do indeed have this authority.
This disruption will only result in a delay in completing the project and additional costs to all the owners.These
disgruntled owners had every opportunity to convince us that the proposal should not be approved, but they failed as
the project was approved by an overwhelming margin.
The Board and several committees have work long and hard to get the final product, which included numerous meetings
and input from the owners, to this point. We need to move forward without further delay and therefore strongly urge
you the approve the Land Transfer at the next meeting in order that the appropriate permits can be secured ASAP.

respect that not everyone was in support,just like our own car port project in Andover.
But, once our vote was over and the car ports were replaced my sense was that the

That is not the case with the dissidents,they continue to distribute inaccurate

some success, linked the decision to take the restaurant private with their ongoing
disagreement with the clubhouse project approval .They are separate issues and the
Board has announced that it will re visit the restaurant decision this Fall.
The most recent tactic was for one of this secret group to appear and the County
Commissioners meeting last week and successfully delay the transfer of lands between
the County and our Club. This means that the permits for the new construction cannot
be issued. The meeting can be viewed by going to the Collier County website.This delay
is costing every one of us money, in potential increased construction costs and
unneeded legal fees. Regardless of how each of us voted or feel about the project, the
bottom line is that a group of unhappy residents are holding themselves out to be
representative of Royal Wood and again, their actions are causing each and everyone of
us money and delays to the project.
I am suggesting that they do not represent me or many others with their negative
actions, regardless of our individual vote on the project. If you would like to see the
project move forward at the county level you do have a voice. Contact the local

My spouse and I own 4 condo units in Royal Wood Golf and Country Club. As you are likely aware, there
is a land transfer due to occur between Collier County and Royal Wood. Unfortunately a minority
number of Royal Wood owners are trying to prevent a renovation project that was properly voted on
and approved by our owners and most recently they appeared before a meeting of your Commission
and were somehow able to stop the effecting of the land transfer which is apparently a prerequisite to
our project obtaining the necessary permits and moving ahead.
I am hereby asking you to finalize the land transfer ASAP and clear the way for our renovation project to
move forward. Please do not allow a disgruntled minority to continue blocking a democratically
confirmed plan thereby risking significantly increased costs by using your Commission as a pawn in their
irresponsible undertaking.The majority of Royal Wood owners supported the redevelopment project,
have invested significant funds to finance the plan AND WANT IT TO PROCEED!

My sister, Robyn,and I own the Naples Royal Wood property at 4580 Andover Way, B-304, inherited from our recently
deceased parents, who purchased the property I believe in the 1970s. We've been on board for the recent improvements
the majority of the Royal Wood members have advocated. There are a few members, however, who have decided to
thwart the majority and disrupt the progress of the approved renovations. Their most recent tactic was to, through actions
taken at the last County Commissioners meeting, delay the transfer of lands between the County and Royal Wood,
meaning that permits for the new construction cannot be issued.
We want the renovations to proceed on as timely a schedule as possible, to avoid, among other things, additional
expenses from delayed-construction price increases, potential legal fees, etc.
We respectfully entreat you to "approve" the land transfer at the next County Commissioners meeting, which can allow
this important project to proceed.

us voted or feel about the project, the bottom line is that a group of
unhappy residents are holding themselves out to be representative of

I am suggesting that they do not represent me or many others with
their negative actions, regardless of our individual vote on the project.
If you would like to see the project move forward at the county level
you do have a voice. Contact the local Commissioner, Donna Fiala at
239-252-8601. Or Donna.fiala@colliercountyfl.gov. Ask her to approve
the land transfer at the next meeting and permit the project to
proceed. No one wins when individuals divide the community and
refuse to accept the wishes of the majority.The leader of the group
refused to share the names of his secret society, so be it, but each of
us can make our wishes known to the Commissioner.

My wife and I are writing in support of approval of the Royal Wood site development plan by the Collier County Board at
your Tuesday,June 25, 2019.
I had served as Chairperson of Royal Wood's Long Range Planning Committee when appointed by then Master Board
President Mike Fennelly in 2013 until 2018. The very first project in 2013 we worked on in open sessions as a committee
was the rezoning of a small parcel of land (about .94 acre) of then zoned "preserve/park" located east behind the Royal
Wood Master Clubhouse to create Club usable development land. In 2014 in meetings with then Royal Wood's General
Manager Tim Hayes, Grounds Superintendent James Richards, and Grady Minor Consulting Engineers representing RW
reached an agreement with Collier County Land Development for an equal exchange of other comparable Royal Wood
land that would become "newly replaced preserve/park zoned land" with all agreeing to the transfer of zoned land.
These efforts for exchange were directed to be accomplished by the RW Master Board to the Long Range Planning
Committee and conversely by our Committee to Hayes, Richards and Grady Minor for approval with Collier County. The
only reason we are at this point in time, is that our then lame duck General Manager Tim Hayes, failed to file the agreed
to land swap redone back in 2014.
My wife and I have owned in Royal Wood since 2003 and became Collier County residents in 2007, during this period of
time to present we have not seen the "preserve/park" land behind our Clubhouse used in any way shape or form for
anything!? The residents of Royal Wood lose nothing with this land rezoning as alternative preserve/park zoned land
takes its place. The rezoned land in turn becomes an important asset in the RW site development plan providing desired
amenities and improved taxable assets.
As RW LRPC Chair, I made countless land rezoning-land swap and Project 2.0 presentations open sessions of the RW
Master Board and RW Town Hall meetings in open session at the Master Clubhouse and at multiple RW Condo
communities (6) and at Single Family Homeowners meetings regarding the same continually from 2013 to May of 2018.
Neither the land rezoning nor the Project 2.0 were unknown or surprises to any owner of Royal Wood.
In fact, I specifically recall Mr. Richard "Dick" Price making a presentation at one of these Clubhouse Master Board
Project/land swap open session meetings where he in the "owner comments section" of the meeting talked only about
"doing a project as was being proposed by RW would not improve RW owner property investments"! Mr. Price never in
open session presented, questioned or objected to the land rezoning portions! The first ever questioning on RW land
rezoning by Price I know of occurred at the last Collier County Board in June 2019! In fact from 2013 until your June
2019 meeting, I,the LRPC, or the RW Master Board have "never" received not one objection to the RW landing
rezoning!!
This can only be viewed as a land mine mentality approach to create doubt to derail the Royal Wood Project 2.0 that

Good morning Donna,
I am a resident of Royal Wood Golf and Country Club. I am very concerned that a small group of residents is trying to
disrupt the Community's plan of improvement. The plans, which include the Board's approval of the land transfer, will be
beneficial to all of the residents of Royal Wood. Our club is dated and needs to be improved to maintain the value of our
homes.
A small group of people are challenging these improvements. These have been discussed at our Board meetings for
several years and the original scope of the proposal was scaled back. These residents have been aware of this process
and the timing for it. They have now come forward, mid-project to refute the lagality of it. If they were to do this, shouldn't it
have been done long befooe this? By not taking action earlier, and possibly paying for it already, they are implying their
agreement. This small group threatens the remainder of the Community in that we may not have a facility available when
the majority of residents return to enjoy what they have paid for.
Please do not allow a small group of people to impact the lives of the greater number. Please approve the land transfer as
it comes up for the vote.

Yesterday I called your office and left a message with your aide. He listened, I talked. I'm sure that he conveyed the gist
of my message to you, but somehow I feel better about having set in electronic black and white.
For over 25 years my wife, Mary Lou, and I have owned our condo in the Andover Square section of Royal Wood. We
have seen many changes during that period of time and paid our assessments and our increased fees, recognizing that
what changes brought before the people were certainly necessary and would enhance the value of our property.
We are now in our nineties and more than ever enjoy the warm weather and sunshine. the recent hurricane did
considerable damage to Andover and resulted in an assessment to make repairs.Almost simultaneously the Board voted
another sum be assessed to pay for renovations planned before the hurricane hit.This was quite a hit on our savings
account, but one we felt we had to support even though at our age we might not see the end of the work.
There is a small group of disgruntled residents who seem to be determined to disrupt the plans in any way they can.This
is in spite of the board having gone through the correct procedures and with the approval of the majority of the
residents. At the last Commissioner's meeting their representatives managed to get a delay on permits,etc. so that work
would not continue. If delays continue for any length of time, it will only mean increased costs.
My wife and I would greatly appreciate your support and help in facilitating the County"s permission for us to proceed
with the renovation.

My sister, Robyn,and I own the Naples Royal Wood property at 4580 Andover Way, B-304, inherited from our recently
deceased parents, who purchased the property I believe in the 1970s. We've been on board for the recent improvements
the majority of the Royal Wood members have advocated. There are a few members, however, who have decided to
thwart the majority and disrupt the progress of the approved renovations. Their most recent tactic was to, through actions
taken at the last County Commissioners meeting, delay the transfer of lands between the County and Royal Wood,
meaning that permits for the new construction cannot be issued.
We want the renovations to proceed on as timely a schedule as possible, to avoid, among other things, additional
expenses from delayed-construction price increases, potential legal fees, etc.

this important project to proceed.
