EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Recommendation to accept additional funding from the 4.H Foundation Clubs, '
Inc. in the amount of $13,694.00; recognize $6,230 in private contributions; and
authorize a budget amendment in the amount of $19,924.00.

OBJECTIVE: To accept additional funds in the amount of $13,694.00 from the 4-H
Foundation Clubs, Inc. and recognize revenue from a private contribution in the amount
of $6,230 to partially fund a full time 4-H Outreach Coordinator position; to fully fund a
temporary Outreach Coordinator; and to fund enhancements to outreach activities in the
Collier County University of Florida/IFAS Extension Department.
CONSIDERATIONS: During the FY 2001 budget process, funding from the 4-H
Foundation Clubs, Inc. was first recognized to support the funding of the 4-H Outreach
Program within the Collier County University of Florida/IFAS Extension Department.
Funding has been received in each year since and has been incorporated into the
budget process for each County fiscal year. A total of $210,000 has been received over
the last several years.
The Board of County Commissioners approved the original grant application on January
27,2009 Agenda Item 16D8 which was budgeted at $50,881. To complete the fourth
quarter of the calendar year, an additional $13,694 is being provided by the 4-H
Foundation Clubs, Inc. and $6,230 from private contributions needs to be recognized to
continue to partially the program activities in the Collier County University of
Florida/IFAS Extension Department.
FISCAL IMPACT: Funding is available from the 4-H Foundation in the amount of
$13,694 and private contributions have been received in the amount of $6,230. These
amounts will bring the total program to $70,805 for the current fiscal year.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney's
Office and it does not present a legal issue-SRT.

GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact
associated with this request.
RECOMMENDATION: To accept funding from the 4-H Foundation Clubs, Inc.;
recognize private contributions; and authorize the necessary budget amendments.
