Agenda 09/15/2009 Item #16D10 Agenda Item No. 16010 September 15, 2009 Page 1 of 5 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation that the Board of County Commissioners award Bid #09-5282 with the estimated expenditures of $75,017 to Fence Design by Arc Tech Construction, for the Fence Repairs at seven park sites. Obiective: Approval to award Bid #09-5282 to Fence Design by Arc Tech Construction, with the estimated expenditures of $75,017 for fence repairs on seven County park projects located throughout County sites. Considerations: On June 26, 2009, the Purchasing Department sent a notice to Bid #09-5282 for fence repairs at seven County park sites. The invitation to Bid included the supply of all materials, labor and equipment to repair and/or install new fence at seven County park projects. The repairs are to replace bowed, leaning, rusted fences, re-secure existing fence and to repair and/or replace broken rails, posts and gates. Install new fence and posts at North Collier Regional Park nOlih property line. Notices were sent electronically to 163 registered bidders, 62 bidders downloaded the bid documents, and 2 bid submissions were received on July 17,2009. The two bidders are: Fence Design by Arc Tech Construction $75,017.00 Tarpon Bay General Contracting $99,328.19 The allocation for these repairs cost for the seven park projects are: Corkscrew $ 9,167 East Naples Community Park $ 6,907 Gulf Coast Community Park $ 2,518 North Collier Regional Park $16,180 Pelican Bay Community Park $ 7,140 Veterans COlmnunity Park $27,931 Vineyards Community Park $ 5.174 Total $75,017 Staff reviewed the bid responses and recommends awarding the bid to Fence Design by Arc Tech Construction, as the lowest qualified and responsive bidder meeting the specifications. The tabulation of bids is attached. Fiscal Impact: Funds are budgeted in Fencing Repairs project 80104 in Fund 306. Le2al Considerations: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney's Office, requires simple majority vote, and is legally sufficient for Board action. - CMG Growth Mana2ement Impact: The value of the improved facility will be inventoried in the Growth Management Plan.
