OBJECTIVE: To appoint 1 member to fulfill the remainder of a term, expiring on April 4, 2013, to the lmmokalee Enterprise Zone Development Agency. CONSIDERA TIONS: The Immokalee Enterprise Zone Development Agency has 1 vacancy with the term expiring on April 4, 2013. This 13 member committee was created on March 28, 1995, by Ordinance 95-22 to induce private investment into distressed areas to create economic opportunities and sustainable economic development for designated areas. To permit Collier County to participate in this program, the Board of County Commissioners nominated the lmmokalee Community to be considered by the Florida Department of Commerce for Enterprise Zone designation in Resolution No. 95-248, approved March 28, 1995. As part of the formal application for an Enterprise Zone, the State required that a committee consisting of a broad base of citizens be established. The committee has representation from the lmmokalee Chamber of Commerce, financial or insurance entities, businesses operating within the nominated area, residents living within the nominated area, nonprofit community-based organizations operating within the nominated area, local Workforce Development Board, local code enforcement agency, and local law enforcement agency. This committee also serves as the lmmokalee Redevelopment Board. A list of the current membership is included in the backup. Mr. Bernardo Barnhart did not request reappointment in April 2009, leaving a vacancy. At a regular meeting of the CRA Advisory Board and the EZDA Board on July 15, 2009, .the local Boards voted unanimously to not to recommend Randy Anderson (5318 Warren Street. Naples, Florida 34113) to the Collier County Community Redevelopment Agency Board for appointment to the CRA Advisory and the EZDA Boards. Mr. Anderson is an interested citizen not residing in the regulatory area of the Immokalee Area Master Plan and the EZDA, and he does not represent finance or insurance businesses. County Code Enforcement Monthly Highlights in Immokalee. Kitchell Snow provided a presentation on code enforcement clean-up efforts in Immokalee. Immokalee State Farmer's Market update. Mr. Crews reported that the Charles Bronson letter (Enclosure 4) was hand delivered to Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart at the town hall meeting at the Golden Gate Fire Station and Congressman.
