I am opposed to the development plan by the Q. Grady Minor & Associates from Bonita Springs. Presentation a few weeks ago, that we attended, was presented as such a wonderful plan however, I am truly concerned with what is being proposed as we have such a traffic problem already! I can only see more traffic issues. It amazes me driving in Florida how ambulances and fire trucks already have to weave in and out of traffic to get to their calls! Can not believe how cars and trucks do not move out of the way of these emergency vehicles (I guess that is another issue). Now, we want to develop not only a shopping area but, housing of multiple types and hotel on top of that! Sounds crazy! Has anyone really taken a look at this traffic issue? I propose that Collier County take a good look, not just with some random numbers that are provided for traffic but, physically plant yourselves to observe with your own eyes what the community concerns are. In season, we have witnessed emergency vehicles not being able to get through because lanes are blocked. There are only two ways to get in or out onto Immokalee from our development and these are also used by Cypress Woods residents and golfers, multiple businesses, gas station, restaurants and motel residents. This is a cluster. Appreciate some real attention to this proposed development.
