EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Petition SNR-2008-AR-14115, GBP development Ltd., represented by Michael Herrera, P.E. of Q.
Grady Minor & Associates, requesting a street name change from Chiasso Bend Court to Vadala Bend
Court, located in Fiddler's Creek Phase 4, in Sections 11 and 14, Township 51 south, Range 26 east,
Collier County, Florida.
OBJECTIVE:
Recommendation to have the Collier County Board of County Commissioners approve the Resolution
renaming Chiasso Bend Court to Vadala Bend Court.
CONSIDERATIONS:
The Petitioner has met the requirements for requesting a street name change and the proposed name does
not duplicate an existing street name in Collier County. There is one property owner abutting the street
in question and has granted their approval of the change.
Collier County Ordinance No. 2007-62 states that anyone wishing to rename a County street must
submit a petition establishing that at least 66 percent of the property owners abutting the street are in
favor of the change.

FISCAL IMPACT:
Fiscal impact will be incurred in the form of staff time spent noting changes on plats by the Engineering
and Environmental Services Department and address records by Addressing Staff. Fiscal impact to fire,
police (Sheriff' s Office), Post Office, EMS, and 911 Emergency Services will be incurred in the fonn of
costs to update records and maps. The Petitioner will bear the cost of replacing the sign(s).
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT:
The renaming of the street will have no impact on the Growth Management Plan.
ZONING DEPARTMENT STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recomniends that the Board of County Commissioners approve Petition SNR-2008-AR-14115,
changing the name of Chiasso Bend Court to Vadala Bend Court.
PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
The Collier County Planning Commission does not review street name change petitions.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS:
The proposed Resolution was prepared by the County Attorney's Office and is legally sufficient for
Board action. This item is quasi-judicial, and as such, it requires ex parte disclosures. A supermajority
vote is required for Board approval.--HF AC

RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA,
RENAMING CHlASSO BEND COURT TO VADALA BEND
COURT, WHICH STREET IS LOCATED IN FIDDLER'S
CREEK, PHASE 4, UNIT 2, SECTIONS II AND 14,
TOWNSHJP 51 SOUTH, RANGE 26 EAST, COLLIER
COUNTY, FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the legislature of the State of Florida by enacting S 336.05, Florida Statutes,
has conferred on all counties in Florida the power to name or reruune streets and roads, except for
certain state roads; and
WHEREAS, Collier County pursuant thereto has adopted Collier County Ordinance No.
07-62, as codified in Chapter 22, Article X, of the Collier County Code of Laws and Ordinances,
which establishes criteria and procedures to rename streets or roads; and
WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners (Board) has held a
public hearing after providing notice as required by said ordinance and has considered the
advisability of granting the request by Michael Herrera, P.E. of Q. Grady Minor & Associates on
behalf of GBP Development Ltd., to rename Chiasso Bend Court to Vadala Bend Court. This
street is located in Sections II and 14, Township 51 South, Range 26 East, Collier County,
Florida, Fiddler's Creek, Phase 4, Unit 2, according to the plat thereof, recorded in Plat Book 45,
Pages 40 through 47, of the Official Records of Collier County, Florida; and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that all criteria set forth in Ordinance No. 07-62
have been met and specifically finds that there is no other street in incorporated or
unincorporated Collier County with this name or any similar sounding name as is being
requested; and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that it is necessary for identification purposes to
confirm the name of this street.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
Effective this date, the name of the street described in the above recitals is hereby
changed from Chiasso Bend Court to Vadala Bend Court, and is confirmed as such.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be recorded in the Public Records of
Collier County, Florida, and noted upon the maps of the street and zoning atlases of Collier
County, and notations made on the referenced Plat.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second and super majority vote this _day of
