OBJECTIVE: To acquire Board approval to purchase three fixed-route buses and trolley decal wrap for Collier Area Transit. CONSIDERATION: Staff requests approval to purchase through State contract, three Gillig heavy-duty transit buses from Gillig Corporation, Haywood California, at a total cost of approximately $1,058,460, which is $1,023,960, for the buses plus $34,500, for the wraps. These buses are scheduled replacements. The fixed route buses will be purchased with FY 08 Federal Transit Administration (FTA) 5307 formula grant money, which is awarded for capita] expenses. FISCAL IMPACT: Sufficient budget exists to fund the desired acqUIsItIon. These replacement buses were planned and programmed for purchase through the FT A 5307 grant. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed and approved by the County Attorney's Office, is not quasi-judicia] and requires no ex parte disclosure, requires only a majority vote for approval, and is otherwise legally sufficient for Board action.~SRT GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: Consistent with Objectives 10 and 12 of the Transportation E]ement of the Growth Management Plan.
