Meeting was called to order by Chairman Jaskiewicz at 10:00AM.
Pledge of Allegiance
Roll call conducted. There was a quorum.
A motion to approve the minutes from the October 16, 2018 meeting was made by Rick Zyvoloski and
seconded by Barry Gerenstein.
Old Business:
Chief Cunningham brought up the sharing of volunteers. Each agency has their own database of
volunteers and all agency are competing for the same volunteers. He invited all agencies to the CERT
alumni meeting every moth to talk about their agency. Barry Gerenstein said he would go to the
February 21 meeting. Dawn Whelan will go to the Verona Walk CERT meeting on February 4.
New Business:
Meetings will take place quarterly starting January 2019. To recruit new members to Citizen Corps the
committee will write a newsletter article each meeting to send to the Commissioners to add to their
newsletter they send to constituents.
Guest Speaker:
Dan Summers spoke about FEMA reimbursement, expansion of membership, ordinance changes. Wade
Haubert is the new Volunteer Coordinator. Discussion with the United Way and the Community
Foundation for a VOAD and COAD.

Emergency Management-Shelter training for county employees took place. Wildland Urban Workshop
on February 15. Skywarn spotter certification, May 2. lCS300, March 5-7. Florida CERTTraining,
September 8-14.
Red Cross-assisted with 62 fires, installed 873 fire alarms, 75 people deployed for hurricane assistance,
pillow case project still active, !2,244 volunteer hours logged.
NCFP-Salvation Army partnered with CERT for bell ringers for the holidays and raised SZ.OOO. Wild fire
season is now on. Efforts on mitigation and education.
MRS-Flu shots are still available.
LMS-working group meeting still meeting. They are applying for a grant for Points of Distribution and
looking for people to adopt a pod. January 14-18 Severe weather awareness week. January 19& 26
CERTTraining in Greater Naples
Coast Guard-New Building will be breaking ground this year. Reserve and auxiliary currently shutdown
due to government shut down. Coast Guard boating classes continue.
The next meeting is April 2,2OL8 at 10:00AM
