Please do not be offended, but due to my "no gift" policy, I must pay for any food or
beverages that I consume. So that I may provide payment as soon as possible, please
provide my aide, Lisa Resnick by email (lisaresnick @colliergov.net) or phone
(239- 252 -8097) with the cost per person, to whom a check should be made payable, and where
payment should be sent.
If you could also be so kind as to provide the time of the workshop (I have 8:30 a.m. - 12

Dear Jim, John and Kathleen - after what seems to have been an extraordinary amount of
time since we met for lunch to discuss senior services, the Community Foundation has
finally finished its draft report and will be convening a major senior services
collaboration of federal, state, county and nonprofits senior service providers on
September 19. Jane Billings will be coordinating the event for the Community Foundation. I
hope you might consider attending or you may want to suggest to others. See below and
attached for details. Call us if you have any questions. Sincerely, Mary George

Subject: Workshop for Collier County Senior Service Providers
Mary, As you our know, the Women's Initiative commissioned a report on the Status of Women
and Girls in Collier County. During the course of data collection and research, one very
apparent and urgent need repeatedly surfaced: a severe lack of support programs for senior
women in need, plus a lack of infrastructure for senior services providers. Based on these
findings the Women's Initiative will be targeting its grantmaking dollars to this
underserved population.
The Women's Initiative is funding a facilitated workshop at Telford Center on September
19. This workshop will be extremely informative as we have some very knowledgeable
participants attending. I am attaching a list of attendees, and as you can see we have
representatives from the state and federal agencies, the county, CAT, all nonprofits
serving seniors and the two for- profit providers contacted by the Area Agency on Aging.

I have asked the Executive Director from the Area Agency on Aging to make a shorL'a9' =5o'6
presentation on the many existing and new opportunities available for Senior Service
Providers and what is working in other counties. The rest of the session will be in break
out groups to work on defining the most pressing priorities and work toward a coalition of
senior service providers. This will be a very informative morning, so If you know of
someone with a vested interest in the well -being of our senior citizens this workshop
should be most interesting.
I have attached our attendee list and rationale for proposal.
