Re: Florida Department of Community Affairs-Recommended Language for House Bill 905
Dear Rep. Goodlette:
The Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously at a special meeting on April 17 to
not support the Florida Department of Community Affairs-recommended language for House
Bill 905. Rather, the Board voted to continue to endorse the Board-approved existing language
in HB 905 as well as in Senator Burt Saunders' companion bill, Senate Bill 1862.
In addition, the Board suggested that Senator Mike Bennett's DR! language applicable to
Collier County in SB 1020 be added to the House version of the DR! bill.

Existe ya, un corredor grande: East west, y el Golden Gate Blvd, justo a una milla de la via que
estan proponiendo, y ademas la imokalee road a solo dos millas a el nocte de esta.
Nosotros no creemos que la via que proponen beneficia a los n; idented el golden gatetitates.
La via propuesta: extencion de la via Vanderbilt beach road, traera como resultado de4 a 6 vias
atravez de los vecindarios de las areas tranquil as y las areas naturales.

Petition Against Eminent Domain
We, the undersigned Citizens of Collier County are Opposed to the
Vanderbilt Beach Rd. Extension proposal and the use of mass Eminent Domain to build
hiehways across our property.. homes.. and neipborhoods in Golden Gate Estates.
We petition the Collier County Commission to find Alternatives such as the
accelerated improvement of our existin& Boulevards including Randall. Golden Gate, and
Everelades, and to Extend Wilson Blvd. south to Landfill Rd. and down to US 41 East.

WE THE UNDERSIGNED CITIZENS OF COLLIER COUNTY
ARE OPPOSED TO THE V ANDERBIL T BEACH ROAD
EXTENSION PROPOSAL:
There is already a major East-West corridor, Golden Gate Blvd.
just one mile south of the proposed road, and another, Immokalee Rd.,
two miles north of it.
We do not believe the proposed road will benefit the residents of
Golden Gate Estates. The proposed Vanderbilt Beach Rd Extension
would bring a four to six lane highway through neighborhoods of quiet
dead-end roads and natural areas.
This will involve directly taking some peoples homes and destroying the
peaceful atmosphere of the entire area. This is unfair to the residents,
many of whom have been there for years.
Furthermore, it is a huge and extravagant expenditure of county
funds. We do not need this many heavy traffic volume roads this close
together.
