LET IT BE REMEMBERED, that the Collier County District #1 Townhall
Meeting in and for the County of Collier, having conducted business herein,
met on this date at 6:55 PM at Edison Community College, East Naples,
Florida, with the following members present:

The Townhall Meeting was hosted by Commissioner Donna Fiala and started at
7:00 PM with:
INTRODUCTIONS AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Presentations were given by EOC, Emergency Operations; report on the Library and
the Lely Cultural Building.
Transportation Report: Norman Feder, Director of Transportation
1. Rattlesnake Hammock Rd. to Polly will be six laned - estimated completion date
of2008
2. County Barn Rd. - Construction to begin this summer 4 lanes - completion 2008
3. Santa Barbara Blvd. to Davis Blvd. - 6 lanes - bids are to be started August 2006
4. Extension of Santa Barbara to Rattlesnake Hammock Rd. a meeting soon about 4
lanes - completion 2008 - 2009
5. US 41 to Golden Gate Canal 6 lanes - construction to start 2006 - 2 years to
completion
6. Collier Blvd to Golden Gate - out on a re-bid for a lower price
7. Immokalee 951 to 175 going to be 6 lanes
8. US 41 landscaping completion date in October 2007
Jerry Kurtz - Storm Water/Transportation reports:
· Re-timing of the light system almost complete - Pine Ridge Rd. to be first
road to try new system.
. Lely storm water improvement LASIP permits completed
· Drainage improvements - putting in 3 large lakes
· Rookery Preserve - quality treatment, maintain historic flows,
environmental features - upsizing culverts
· Scheduled for all permits State and Federal- bids out to start construction
in 2006 - 2007 after rainy season
· Commissioner Halas went to Washington about issuing a County map for
storm water
Marla Ramsey - Public Services Administrator
o 15 projects for District I
o Boat Park - Dock expansion, Eagle Lakes park to be done in May 2006
o Marco 4,000 sq.ft. Library and Auditorium - donated dollars -from residents for
bldg.
o Margood archeology completed - removal of docks in progress to be open to
public (Marco Island)
o Tigertail Beach - restrooms and walkway through the mangroves - contract with
design team now

o South Regional Library - 30,000 sq.ft. - will include community room and stage
for activities
o Manatee Park - 60 acres - soccer, softball, fishing and 5 acres for dog park/permit
by June 2006 - Bid Sept 2006 - Completion Summer 2007
Recycling - Dan Rodriguez
· Curb side recycling a must to meet the demand for the future
· Collier landfill has 22 years left to maintain garbage
Dan Summers - Hurricane Season
· Governor Bush has new tax waiver on generators, batteries etc.
· New action plans - FEMA
· Be ready - Be prepared! Radio station WGCU FM during hurricane - batteries for
radios - local information is the key

Bob Murray - East Naples - Wants the golf course to stay a golf course - Library;
happy about it would like Old Florida style on outside - SB 360 Growth management bill
- Oppose SB 1020
AI Curri - East Naples - Speaking for resident of Riviera Golf Estates - golf courses
are recessed and flood during the rainy season - How are we going to deal with this
flooding if the golf course gets developed - Talked with Steward and Usage, not very
interested because of the case load - Collier County stormwater was more helpful-
Oppose to development of the golf course.
Kay Randazzo - East Naples - Oppose the development of the golf course - The mix of
senior residents and young families is a problem - Traffic congestion - School buses -
We work hard to make our neighborhood look nice -they bought their lots with the golf
course view to retire and they don't want it changed.
Ted Beisler - East Naples - 4 hot spots - Sable Bay, Treviso Bay, 951 and US 41, do all
the construction at once - Rockevoe wants to build affordable housing starting at $250K
Riviera Golf Estates is not the place for affordable housing - Botanical Place is
affordable housing.
Connie Fullmer - Goodland - Reception on their cellular phones is Goodland is bad -
MarGood property is moving along - Boat ramp has been opened up - Fence down under
RT 92 - Road condition before 92 and into 92A
