PROCEEDINGS
HEARING EXAMINER STRAIN: Good morning, everyone. Welcome to the Thursday,
April 11th meeting of the Collier County Hearing Examiner's Office.
If everybody will please rise for Pledge of Allegiance.
(The Pledge of Allegiance was recited in unison.)
HEARING EXAMINER STRAIN: And as a matter of efficiency, I'm going to disperse
with the reading of the housekeeping matters I normally start with. We'll move right into the
agenda.
There's only one item on today's agenda. It's Item 3A. It's Petition No.
PDI-PL20180003088. It's the JP Morgan Chase Bank National Association upon Immokalee Road
and I-75, or no, Collier Boulevard involving a sign variance. All those -- or this one's a PDI. I'm
sorry.
All those wishing to testify on behalf of this item, please rise to be sworn in by the court
reporter.
(The speakers were duly sworn and indicated in the affirmative.)
HEARING EXAMINER STRAIN: Disclosures on my part: I've talked to staff, I've
talked to the applicant, and I believe I've had an email or two come in, all of which have been put into
the record through staff.
And with that, is there any member of the public here other than the applicant's team for this
item?
(No response.)
HEARING EXAMINER STRAIN: Okay. Hearing none, all I will need is the applicant's
representatives to come up and acknowledge they're here today, and if you have anything you want to
add to the record, I'll need to know that as well.
Come up and identify yourself, to that microphone over there.
MR. BELL: William Bell, Principal Consulting Group.
HEARING EXAMINER STRAIN: Okay. Mr. Bell, I've read the entire package. As you
know, I read it before when it was under a different request, and I got it moved to this request. I'm
very familiar with it.
The sign is existing based on previous permitting you've already received. I know that
there's been a question about that sign versus the one on the side of your building, and this was the
one that actually ended up needing to be addressed through a variance or a PDI.
MR. BELL: Correct.
HEARING EXAMINER STRAIN: I don't have any clarifications or questions from the
application. It's pretty clean, and I don't need a presentation since I have read it all, and there's no
member of the public here.
So other than that, unless you have something to add to the record, I have no questions.
MR. BELL: Absolutely not.
HEARING EXAMINER STRAIN: Okay. Thank you very much.
MR. BELL: Thank you.
HEARING EXAMINER STRAIN: Staff have a report?
MR. FINN: For the record, I'm Tim Finn, principal planner. The project is compliant with
the GMP and LDC; therefore, staff recommends approval.
HEARING EXAMINER STRAIN: Okay. And I don't have any questions of staff. So
with that, we'll close the public hearing on this item. A decision will be rendered within 30 days;

obviously, probably a lot less.
And we'll move on to the next item which is other business. There's none listed.
Public comments: Anybody -- there's no member of the public here for any comments.
With that, this meeting's adjourned.
There being no further business for the good of the County, the meeting was adjourned by
order of the Hearing Examiner at 9:03 a.m.
