I would like to schedule a meeting with the Commissioner anytime before November 28 (that is
the date of a Neighborhood information meeting) regarding the following:
A 2.28-acre parcel of land (Folio #: 00726727007) located on the north side of Tamiami Trail
East, approximately 1,250 feet east of the intersection of Collier Boulevard and Tamiami
Trail East (U.S. 41), in Section 3, Township 51 South, Range 26 East, Collier County,
Florida. The property was rezoned from A-Rural Agricultural District to C-5- Heavy Commercial
District in January of 1997 (Ordinance 97-3). Ordinance 97-3 allows for all permitted uses in
the C-4 District, as well as limited C-5 uses. The applicant proposes the following:
• To add indoor air-conditioned self-storage (SIC Code 8225) as a permitted use;
• To allow a maximum building height of 35 feet, limited to the above use;
• To revise Condition # 5, to read as follows: "Buildings or structures shall be designed
so as to inhibit noise emissions"; and
• To eliminate the other previously allowed C-5 uses on the subject parcel, specifically:
Building materials, Hardware, Garden Center (SIC codes 5211-5261); Building
Construction - General Construction and Operative Builders (SIC codes 1521-1542); and,
Construction - Special Trade Contractors (SIC Codes 1711, 1793, 1796, and 1799) .
We are planning to meet with residents and want to discuss with the Commissioner prior to
that.
