EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve final acceptance of the sewer utility facilities for Calusa Pines Golf
Clubhouse, PL20180003262.
OBJECTIVE: To have the Board of County Commissioners, as Ex-Officio Governing Board of the
Collier County Water-Sewer District, approve final acceptance of the sewer facilities, in accordance with
the Collier County Utility Standards and Procedures, Ordinance No. 2004-31.
CONSIDERATIONS:
1) The Developer of Calusa Pines Golf Clubhouse has constructed the sewer facilities within dedicated
easements to serve this private development
2) Collier County Public Utilities Department granted the Developer of Calusa Pines Golf Clubhouse, a
utility deviation that permitted the project to deviate from the standard utiliti es acceptance process,
allowing the project to skip the one-year warranty period (and associated performance security) and
go straight into final utility acceptance. Public Utilities staff justified the deviation because the
sewer utility facilities constructed are privately owned and were tied-in into the pre-existing Calusa
Pines sewer utility facilities (one grinder pump station and 1,274 LF of 2” force main). See attached
verification of final cost.
4) A final inspection to discover defects in materials and workmanship has been conducted by staff on
December 6, 2018, in coordination with Public Utilities, and these facilities have been found to be
satisfactory and acceptable.
5) All sewer utilities are owned and maintained by the developer.
6) Staff recommends final acceptance of the subject sewer utility facilities.
7) This final acceptance is in accordance with Collier County, Ordinance No. 2004-31, as amended.
8) Staff is unaware of any issues that would serve to negate the recommendation to release the
applicable security.
FISCAL IMPACT: Approval of this Executive Summary will have no specific financial impact.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this
action.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been approved as to form and legality, and requires a
majority vote for Board approval -SAS
