PROCLAMA TION
WHEREAS, the Co//ier County Recycling Ordinance No. 2009 -56 adopted by the Board of County
Commissioners expanded the Waste Reduction Awards Program, and,
WHEREAS, the WRAP award recognizes businesses, institutions, and multi- fami /y residents for enhanced and
innovative recycling programs; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is pleased to recognize 6nodwi// Industries of Southwest
Florida, Inc., for contributing to the greater good of Collier County by advocating the 'Reduce,
Reuse and Recycle" messages to their staff and patrons, thereby he /ping to prolong the usable
life of the Collier County Landfill; and,
WHEREAS, some aspects of their recycling program and source reduction includes
• The Collier County 66odwi// donation center recycles scrap metal, electronics, wood pallets,
cardboard, plastics, and aluminum received or colleted through their donated goods program.
• The Collier County 6vodwi// centers have recycled 1,452,174 pounds of post - retail donated
goods, resulting in an increase of 26Z since 2009 of waste diverted from the landfill.
• The revenue generated from the sales of textiles, books, shoes, and house wares on the salvage
market helps support their mission, reduces their carbon footprint, and lowers their so /id waste
collection expense.
• 60odwi// sets a god example to other donation centers by utilizes their program participants to
handle materials being processed for recycling and reducing waste. 'and,
WHEREAS, the WRAP award program includes a framed certificate, a trophy, use of the WRAP logo, and
space on the collier ov. net /recycles website showcasing their eco- friendly business practices and
recycling program.
WHEREAS, the So /id Waste Management Department congratulates Thomas L. Feurig, President and CEO,•
Jennifer I. Nelson, Sr. Director of Retail Operations and E- commence; Jody Jacoby, Salvage
and Recycling Supawisar; and a// the staff of 600dwif/ Industries of Southwest Florida, Inc., for
their outstanding eco - friendly business practices and continued efforts to promote waste
reduction and recyc /itg.
WHEREAS, 600dwi11 Industries of Southwest F/arida Inc. promotes environmental awareness and sets a
positive example for others. Their initiatives wilt have a significant effect on sustaining the
usable fife of the Collier County Landfill and protecting the environment.
NOW THEREFORE, NOW THEREFORE, be it pros /aimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County, Florida, that we congratulate

for their continued contributions and efforts in recyc ling.
