A builder building to the Florida code would achieve about 175 points under the
Green Building point system. Two hundred points are needed to achieve Green
Home standard as noted by Dr. Languell.
Mr. Lorenz suggested identification of areas this Committee would like to have
improved in order to organize with other County Departments. A sub-committee
could be developed to evaluated proposals for modification of the Growth
Management Plan, these ideas could be incorporated.
V. Public Comments
Bob Krasowski is a member of Zero Waste Collier County Group. He supports
recycling, and feels that it should be looked into further. He is very happy with
the presentations given, and would like to say that people are listening.
Dr. Lynne mentioned a web site where persons can post free items that would
otherwise go to trash. Freecycle.org
Arrangement will be made for a representative from Solid Waste Management to
give a presentation, along with a representative from the Planning Department to
address Ave Maria.
There being no further business for the good of the County, the meeting was
