The Airport Authority Advisory Board has 1 vacancy for a new term that will expire August 10, 2015; this member must be a resident of Marco Island. The 7 member Airport Authority Advisory Board was created by Ordinance 2010 -11 and has the responsibility for the construction, improvement, equipment, development, regulation, operation and maintenance of the airports and airport facilities. Members of the Authority shall be residents of Collier County with business ability and experience in one or more fields which, by way of example, may include, but are not limited to, general business, economic development, aviation, public affairs, law, finance, accounting, engineering, natural resource conservation or other related fields. There shall be at least 1 member of the Authority appointed from each of the communities of Immokalee, Marco Island, and Everglades City if a qualified candidate who resides within the respective area is available for appointment to the Authority. No person holding elected office at the State, County, or Municipal level shall be appointed to, or be a member of, the Authority The Bayshore /Gateway Triangle Local Redevelopment Advisory Board has a vacancy for a term expiring on May 22, 2012. This 9 member committee was created by Resolution 2001 -98 on March 27, 2001 to review the Redevelopment Plan, to make recommendations to the Community Redevelopment Agency, to receive input from members of the public interested in their respective component areas and to report such information to the Community Redevelopment Agency. Resumes will be accepted from all interested parties for this at large representative, including Bayshore residents, who reside or engage in business or both in the Bayshore /Gateway Triangle Component Redevelopment Area. A person who "engages in business" means an individual owning real property or a business, practicing a profession or performing a service for compensation or serving as an officer or director of a corporation or other business entity so engaged. Consideration will be given to appointing a member that has experience in the following professions: finance, banking, architecture, engineering, education, law enforcement, social work, real estate sales and development, planning or design and building construction. Terms are 3 years. The Golden Gate Estates Land Trust Committee has 1 vacancy for a term that will expire on October 13, 2014, for applicants residing in Golden Gate Estates Units 21 -22, 36 -47, 52 -53, 59 -93 or those units located south of Alligator Alley. This 5 member committee serves in an advisory capacity to the Board of County Commissioners for the purpose of carrying out the requirements, conditions and various provisions of an Agreement relating to the use of land, or funds derived from the sale of land, conveyed to the County by Avatar Properties Inc. (f /k/a GAC Properties Inc.). Applicants must reside within the subdivision known as "Golden Gate Estates." Member selection may depend upon location of residence within specific areas (phases) of the Estates. Terms are 4 years. The Hispanic Affairs Advisory Committee has 2 vacancies for terms 1 to expire June 25, 2013 and 1 to expire June 25, 2015. This 9 member board identifies and evaluates problems unique to the Hispanic Community, reviews and recommends ways to ensure open communication between the minorities and Collier County Government and provides periodic reports to the Board of County Commissioners. Terms are 4 years. o- 6'v The Conservation Collier Land Acquisition Advisory Committee has 1 vacancy for a term expiring on February 11, 2015. This 9- member committee was created by Ordinance No. 2002 -63 and their primary responsibility is to recommend to the BCC an Active Properties Acquisition List with qualified purchase recommendations of environmentally sensitive lands consistent with the goals of the Conservation Collier Land Acquisition Program. Membership of the committee shall comprise broad and balanced representation including environmental and conservation interests, agricultural and business interests, educational interests, and general civic and citizen interests within the County. Members shall have expertise, knowledge or interest in ecology, conservation of natural resources, real estate or land acquisition, land appraisal, land management, eco- tourism or environmental education. Terms are 3 years. The Value Adjustment Board is seeking applications for one citizen member and one alternate citizen member. The Value Adjustment Board considers recommendations of the Special Magistrates on tax petitions regarding exemptions, classifications, assessed values, and untimely petitions for the current tax year. Value Adjustment Board meetings are held in accordance with the Rules of Procedure to be adopted by the Value Adjustment Board, administrative rules promulgated by the Florida Department of Revenue, and applicable Florida Statutes. The citizen members must own homestead property within Collier County and may not be a member of or employee of a taxing authority and may not represent other property owners in any administrative or judicial review of property taxes. The citizen members should also be available to attend VAB meetings at the Government Center three times during the year. Some knowledge of real property and appraisal practice is encouraged.
