Annette called for a motion to approve as submitted, Jeff made the motion to approve the cur rent minutes as submitted, Pat seconded the motion, the vote was called, and all were in favor. 4. Treasurer’s Report: Michael provided the available balance of $880,746.58. 5. Greater Naples Fire Rescue District request for funding : Tara Bishop and Wayne Martin with the Greater Naples Fire Rescue District explained that the District was 20.A.4 Packet Pg. 487 Attachment: Minutes July 30, 2018 Meeting (6811 : GGE Land Trust Advisory Committee - September 24, 2018) in need of funding to purchase a new brush truck to assist in fire control in Golden Gate Estates. The cost of the Brush Truck is $212,725.44. The District is unable to fund the entire cost since there are five other trucks coming online that will be paid for over seven years by the District. Tara said that she attempted to apply for a grant for the Brush Truck but there are no grants available for that type of equipment. Wayne provided a handout showing the type o f truck that is being discussed (attached). Pat asked how the District would fund the truck if the GGE Land Trust Committee were to refuse the funding request. Tara said the District would have to request the fundi ng from their Board and with the other trucks on order, the request may not be granted and that is why she was petitioning the Committee for assistance. Jeff said that the Committee’s funds were low and that the Committee would be reviewing the values of p roperties that are currently on the hold and will consider a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners to release some or all in order to take advantage of the current market and to regain funds in its account to satisfy these types of requests. With that, Jeff made a motion to fund fifty percent of the cost of the Brush Truck, which equals $106,362.72. Michael said that he can prepare the Executive Summary and submit the item on the next available BCC meeting which would be September 11, 2018, since the Board is on vacation until that date. Tara said her Board meets on August 14 and will inform Michael if her Board does not agree to fund the second half of the cost so that an Agreement would not have to be processed. Annette called for a second, Pat seconded the motion, the vote was called, all were in favor. 6. Other Business: Tara informed the Committee that the Safety Trailer was damaged during Hurricane Irma. Tara said that their insurance carrier will provide $43,000 for repair/replacement. Tara said that she is obtaining quotes since the new Safety Trailers have new technology and are in the $160,000.00 range. Of course, the insurance money would go towards the purchase of the new trailer. Tara said she is not asking for funds at this time since she is applying for grants for the Trailer but wanted to make the Committee aware that she may petition the Committee at a future date should the grant not be approved. The new Trailers have more computer-technology and more educational interaction f or visitors. 7. Public Comment: None 8. Next meeting – September 24, 2018 9.
