WHEREAS, on February 8, 2011 Pastor Don Treglown gave the invocation at the
Collier County Board of County Commissioners meeting, and,
WHEREAS, Pastor Don Treglown grew up in Farmington Hills, Michigan in the Detroit
area, graduated a pre -law and German language mq jor from Albion
College in 1983 where he was awarded the Willie May Cheek medal
award for outstanding religious studies student, and,
WHEREAS, Pastor Treglown studied further at Concordia Theological Seminary in
Fort Wayne, Indiana where he received his Masters of Divinity degree
in 1987, and,
WHEREAS, Pastor Treglown was then called as an evangelical missionary to the
Philippines where he served with the Toga /auto- kolakan tribe on the
island of Mindanao, and,
WHEREAS, in 2001 after 14 years of service overseas, Pastor Treglown accepted
the call as Senior Pastor of Faith Lutheran Church in Naples where he
will be celebrating his tenth anniversary on February 19, 2011; and,
WHEREAS, Pastor Treglown and members of his flock work with Mr. Homer Helfer
at He/ter'r Military Store in Naples, Florida, to support our troops in
the Middle East. Since 20D3 this has resulted in 23 tons of gifts being
sent to Iraq and Afghanistan, including 50,000 Beanie Babies to be
given to children of service members and $27, 000 worth of phone cards
provided to the troops so they can call home while deployed, and,
WHEREAS, it is with great pleasure that we present this proclamation to Pastor
Treglown for his support and service to the residents and visitors of
Collier County and wish him well in his continued efforts.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County, Florida, that February 19, 2011, be designated as
PASTOR DON TRE99LOWN DAY
