EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve the Second Amendment to Agreement for Legal Services relating to
Retention Agreement Nabors, Giblin & Nickerson P.A. extending the expiration date to November
17, 2021. There is no new fiscal impact associated with this Amendment.
OBJECTIVE: That the Board of County Commissioners approves, and authorizes its Chairman to sign,
the Second Amendment to Agreement for Legal Services relating to the Retention Agreement with the
law firm of Nabors, Giblin & Nickerson, P.A. extending the expiration date to November 17, 2021.
CONSIDERATIONS: On September 9, 2008, the County and Counsel entered into an Agreement (the
“Agreement”) wherein the County agreed to retain Counsel to provide professional specialized legal
services. The professional services to be rendered as specified in Article 3 of the Agreement was for a
three (3) year term with two (2) additional renewal terms of one year per each term.
On September 10, 2013, the County and Counsel entered into an Amendment to Agreement for Legal
Services to extend the terms of the agreement for an additional three (3) year term with two (2) additional
renewal terms of one year per each term.
The rates for Nabors, Giblin & Nickerson, P.A. will remain the same.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: The proposed Amendment is approved as to form and legality and
requires a majority vote for approval. - JAK
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves, and authorizes its
