EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
PRESENTATION OF THE ADVISORY COMMITTEE OUTSTANDING MEMBER AWARD
TO JEFFREY S. CURL OF THE LAND ACQUISITION ADVISORY COMMITTEE.
OBJECTIVE: To recognize and reward an advisory committee member for their outstanding
and dedicated service to Collier County.
CONSIDERATIONS: On September 21, 2004, the Board of County Commissioners adopted
Resolution No. 2004 -280 to recognize and reward outstanding Advisory Committee members for
their significant contributions to the organization and/or community. The respective committees
nominate the outstanding Advisory Committee members and the Awards Committee (same
committee that currently selects the Employee of the Month) evaluates and selects volunteers
from the nomination forms.
The Land Acquisition Advisory Committee (LAAC) has had the fortune of attracting
a number of capable contributing persons who have served for long periods of time.
Jeffrey Curl is one of those persons. He has continuously shown high regard for the
Conservation Collier Program from both ecological and economic perspectives by
engaging the LAAC in pertinent discussions and asking salient questions. Jeffrey Curl
has agreed to serve as the LAAC's voice in the weekly discussions on the Gordon
River Greenway Project and has been highly proficient in providing updates to the
other members in a timely and articulate manner. Jeffrey Curl serves on two of the
three permanent subcommittees and has also provided his time and design expertise
in creating the recently approved logo for the Conservation Collier Program. In
addition to running meetings, Jeff assisted staff in reviewing the Pepper Ranch
agreement, a complex negotiation. He also contributed significantly to developing a
program letter to avoid future easement issues, and is currently assisting with
development of a preserve use ordinance.
