EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve a proposed policy establishing operational
guidelines for submitting interagency concerns between County emergency
services providers and independent fire departments to outside authorities.
OBJECTIVE: To establish the Co!lier County EMS Department operation guidelines for
submitting interagency concerns to outside governing authorities.
CONSIDERATIONS: At the September 26, 2010 Board meeting, the County Commission
directed the County Manager to develop a policy for its consideration that required advanced
notification to the County Manager and BCC of any dispute that may arise between the
Emergency Medical Services Department and/or the EMS Medical Director and any
independent fire district before said dispute is forwarded to any outside authority. The
enclosed proposed Standard Operating Guideline document satisfies this directive.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board approve the proposed Collier County EMS
Department Standard Operating Guideline document outlining reporting procedures to outside
authorities.
