EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Petition SNR- PL2009 -2385, Imperial Golf Estates Homeowners Association c/o Platinum Property
Management, represented by Chris Hagan of Johnson Engineering, requesting to rename Marquis
Boulevard to Entrada Avenue. The subject property is located in Section 13, Township 48 South,
Range 25 East, in Collier County, Florida.
OBJECTIVE:
Recommendation to approve the resolution to rename Marquis Boulevard to Entrada Avenue.
CONSIDERATIONS:
The Petitioner has met the requirements for requesting a street name change and the proposed name
does not duplicate an existing name in Collier County. Signatures are not being required for this
petition as the applicant also owns the four parcels abutting the existing Marquis Boulevard. Currently,
Entrada Avenue intersects with Livingston and proceeds to a dead end. There is a platted, yet unbuilt
road that then runs to the platted and unbuilt Marquis Boulevard. This street name change is proposed
to provide a single named street from Livingston all the way to Imperial Golf Estates.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Fiscal impact will be incurred in the form of staff time spent noting changes on plats by the
Engineering Section and address records by the Addressing Staff. Fiscal impact to fire, police
(Sheriff s Office), Post Office, EMS, and 911 Emergency Services will be incurred in the form of costs
to update records and maps. The Petitioner will bear the cost of purchasing and installing their own
signs.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT:
The renaming of the street will have no impact on the Growth Management Plan.
ZONING DEPARTMENT STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve Petition SNR- PL2009 -2385,
renaming Marquis Boulevard to Entrada Avcnue.
COLLIER COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION (CCP0 RECOMMENDATION:
The Collier County Planning Commission does not review street name change petitions.
LEGAL CONSIDERATION:
The proposed Resolution was prepv-ed by the County Attorney's Office and is legally sufficient for
Board action. (STW)

Dear Peggy:
This letter and the attached information are submitted to request a street name change associated
with a development of an interconnect road between Imperial Golf Estates and Livingston Road.
When the Imperial Golf Estates Phase 5 was constructed, a short stub -out for future interconnect
was provided and named Marquis Boulevard. This was to tie into a driveway out to Livingston
Road at sometime in the future. Many years and the adjoining developments were zoned,
permitted and constructed to some degree or another. During that time, the Livingston Road
location was moved and the Milano project was permitted with the east end of the connector road
platted as Entrada Avenue. During our pre - application meeting on 9 -16 -09 for the referenced
CNSTR application, it was determined that we would need to process a street name change for
this project. The owner indicated that they will happily change the name to Entrada Avenue as
part of the overall plan, submission and processing. As this is a private driveway, it would
privately owned, operated and maintained and currently no residents abut the short section of
Marquis Boulevard.

RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA,
RENAMING MARQUIS BOULEVARD TO ENTRADA
AVENUE, WHICH STREET IS LOCATED IN THREE
SUBDMSIONS: IMPERIAL GOLF ESTATES, DELASOL AND
MILANO, ALL OF WHICH ARE LOCATED WITHIN SECTION
13, TOWNSHIP 48 SOUTH, RANGE 25 EAST, COLLIER
COUNTY, FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the legislature of the State of Florida by enacting § 336.05, Florida Statutes,
has conferred on all counties in Florida the power to name or rename streets and roads, except for
certain state roads; and
WHEREAS, Collier County pursuant thereto has adopted Collier County Ordinance No.
07 -62, as codified in Chapter 22, Article X, of the Collier County Code of Laws and Ordinances,
which establishes criteria and procedures to rename streets or roads; and
WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners (Board) has held a
public hearing after providing notice as required by said ordinance and has considered the
advisability of granting the request by Imperial Golf Estates Homeowners Association, to rename
Marquis Boulevard to Entrada Avenue. This street is located in Section 13, Township 48 South,
Range 25 East, Collier County, Florida, Imperial Golf Estates, Delasol and Milano Subdivisions.
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that all criteria set forth in Ordinance No. 07 -62
have been met and specifically finds that there is no other street in incorporated or
unincorporated Collier County with this name or any similar sounding name as is being
requested; and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that it is necessary for identification purposes to
confirm the name of this street.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
Effective this date, the name of the street described in the above recitals is hereby
changed from Marquis Boulevard to Entrada Avenue, and is confirmed as such.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be recorded in the Public Records of
Collier County, Florida, and noted upon the maps of the street and zoning atlases of Collier
County, and notations made on the referenced plat.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second and super majority vote this day of
2010.

dividual to speak on behalf of an organization or group is encouraged.. If recog-
nized by the Chair, a spokesperson for a group or organization may be allotted g
minutes to speak on an item.
Persons wishing to have written or graphic materials included in the Board agenda
packets must submit said matetial a minimum of 3 weeks prior to the resppeectve
Public hearing.. In any case, written materials intended to be considered by ;he
Board shall be submitted to the appropriate County staff a minimum of seven says
prior to the public hearing. All material used in presentations before the Baird
will become a permanent part of the record.
Any person who decides to appeal a derision of the Board will need a record of the
proceedings pertaining thereto and therefore, may need to ensure that verbatim
record of the proceedings is made, which record y includes the testimony and evi-
dence upon which the appeal is based.
