OBJECTIVE: To appoint 3 members to the Emergency Medical Services Policy Committee to fill 2 remaining terms, Emergency Room Nurse and Pharmacist, that will expire on September 9, 2011 and a term, Emergency Room Doctor, that will expire on September 9, 2013. CONSIDERATIONS: The Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council has 3 vacancies for individuals in the categories of Emergency Room Nurse, Emergency Room Physician and a Pharmacist. This 14 member council advises the Board of County Commissioners on all aspects of emergency medical services, including the operational budget, level of service and equipment. Terms are 3 years. The committee will consist of 5 members: 1 Emergency Room Physician, 1 Emergency Room Nurse, and 1 Pharmacist to be recommended by the Collier County Medical Society; 1 member representing the Fire Chiefs Association; and, 1 representative from EMS. After initial staggered terms, appointments will be for 4 years. A list of the current membership is included in the backup. Resignations were received from: Linda Mitchell, Emergency Room Nurse, and Dr. James V. Talano, Emergency Room Physician, and Mr. Steve Shafor, Pharmacist.
