AN ORDINANCE AMENDING COllIER COUNTY
ORDINANCE NO. 91-65 ESTABLISHING THE
AFFORDABLE HOUSING COMMISSION, BY
AMENDING SECTION TWO, APPOINTMENT AND
COMPOSITION TO INCLUDE AN ALTERNATE IN ITS
MEMBERSHIP; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICT AND=
SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION INE--

WHEREAS, on July 23, 1991, the Board of County Commission~ad~Pted~:J
Ordinance No. 91-65, establishing the Affordable Housing Commission¡:;ånd r·.s
WHEREAS, Section Two, Appointment and Composition, provides that the
Affordable Housing Commission shall be composed of nine (9) members, which
the County Commission shall appoint five (5) and the Naples City Council shall
appoint four (4) members; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has determined the need to
include an Alternate member to sit as a regular voting member when a regular
member is absent from a meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
SECTION ONE: Section Two of Collier County Ordinance No. 91-65 is hereby
amended to read as follows:
SECTION TWO. Appointment and Composition.
A. The Commission shall be composed of nine (9) voting
members and one (1) Alternate member. of which the Board of
County Commissioners shall appoint five (5) Six (6) members.
including the Alternate member, and the Naples City Council shall
appoint four (4) members. The Alternate member shall serve in a
voting capacity only when a regular member is absent from a
meeting. The Commission shall be comprised of members from the
County-at-Iarge, the City of Naples-at-Iarge, the development
community, affordable housing providers, financial institutions, the
legal profession and realtors.
B. Members of the Commission appointed by the Board of
County Commissioners shall serve at the pleasure of the Board of
County Commissioners and members appointed by the Naples City
Council shall serve at the pleasure of the Naples City Council. Said
members shall be permanent residents and electors of Collier
County.

C. Appointment of members to the Commission shall be by
resolution of the Board of County Commissioners and the Naples
City Council, respectively, which resolutions shall set forth the date
of appointment and term of office.
SECTION TWO: Conflict and Severability.
In the event this Ordinance conflicts with any other ordinance of Collier
County or other applicable law, the more restrictive shall apply. If any phrase or
portion of this Ordinance is held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of
competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct. and
independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portion.
SECTION THREE: Inclusion In The Code Of Laws And Ordinances.
The provisions of this Ordinance shall become and be made a part of the Code
of Laws and Ordinances of Collier County, Florida. The sections of the Ordinances
may be renumbered or relettered to accomplish such, and the word "ordinance"
may be changed to "section," "article," or any other appropriate word.
SECTION FOUR: Effective Date.
This Ordinance shall take effect upon filing with the Department of State.
PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
