EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve a Second Amendment to Lease Agreement with
Abbas Ahrabi Asli for the continued use of office space occupied by the Property
Appraiser's Office for one additional month at a total cost of $54,471.75.
OBJECTIVE: Approve a Second Amendment to Lease Agreement between Abbas Ahrabi Asli
and Collier County for the continued use of office space occupied by the Property Appraiser's
Office.
CONSIDERATIONS: The County has leased the building located across from the Government
Complex at the corner of Airport Road and U.S. 41 since June 13. 2002, for the Property
Appraiser's Office. The current lease is scheduled to expire on June 30, 2010.
In June of 2009, the County purchased the former Elks' Lodge located on Radio Road. This
building was programmed to extinguish the current lease and place the Property Appraiser's
Office in a County-owned building.
The renovations at the Elks' Lodge are scheduled to be completed by the end of June or early
July. Staff will need additional time to relocate the occupants of the leased building to the new
building. With that, the attached Second Amendment to Lease Agreement has been prepared to
extend the soon-to-be expiring lease for one additional month. This extension will provide ample
time to complete the move.
FISCAL IMPACT: One month's rent of $54,471.75 will continue to be withdrawn from General
Fund (001-122240-644100).
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no impact to the Growth Management Plan.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: The proposed Second Amendment to Lease Agreement is legally
sufficient for Board action. - JBW
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board approves the Second Amendment to Lease Agreement
between Abbas Ahrabi Asli and Collier County.
