EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
COMMISSIONER REQUEST FOR BOARD APPROVAL FOR PAYMENT TO
ATTEND FUNCTION SERVING A VALID PUBLIC PURPOSE.
OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners to declare a valid public purpose for a
Commissioner to attend function/event and approve payment by the Clerk.
CONSIDERATIONS: Pursuant to resolution No. 99-410, the Board of County Commissioners
has determined that attendance at the functions of fraternal, business, environmental,
educational, charitable, social, professional, trade, homeowners, ethnic, and civic
associations/organizations serves a valid public purpose, provided that said functions reasonably
relate to Collier County matters.
COMMISSIONER: Tom Henning
FUNCTION/EVENT: EDC Project Innovation Event at NCH Telford Education Building
April 29, 2010.
PUBLIC PURPOSE: Interact with local business, non-profit and government leaders and
constituents.
FISCAL IMPACT: $20.00 Funds to be paid from Commissioner's travel budget.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners, in accordance with
resolution No. 99-410, approve payment by the Clerk for Commissioner Henning to attend
function serving a valid public purpose.

Project Innovation at Naples Community Hospital - Telford Education Building 350 7th Street
North - featuring Jackson Laboratory on Thursday, April 29, 2010. $20.00 to be paid from
Commissioner Henning's travel budget.

Laboratory will be our guest, updating the community on the possibility of Jackson Labs expansion to
Florida and Eastern Collier County.The program is on April 29, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the
Telford Education Building (NCH) located at 350 7th Street North, Naples, FL.
The goals of Project Innovation are:
