Agenda 04/13/2010 Item #16E 3 Agenda Item No, 16E3 April 13, 2010 Page 1 of2 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY To review and approve proposed language to be added to County Manager's Agency Policy (CMA) 5311, Code of Ethics, regarding employees who serve on non-profit boards that receive direct or indirect funding from Collier County. OBJECTIVE: To outline the process for an employee wishing to serve on the Board of Directors of any not-for-profit organization receiving direct or indirect funding from the Board of County Commissioners, CONSIDERATIONS: At its regular meeting of February 9, 2010, the Board discussed agenda item, (12A), in regards to an agreement that would allow the Office of the County Attorney to provide defense in the lawsuit between the Deborah Dahlmanns and the Physician Led Access Network (PLAN), Prior to approval of this item, Board members discussed the issue of County employees participating as members of Boards of Directors for not-for-profit groups when the not-for-profit organization receives funding from the County, either directly or indirectly.
