Commissioners the "Phoenix" is a mythological bird that died and rose renewed from its ashes. The
Collier County Emergency Medical Services Department has adopted the PHOENIX AWARD to
recognize those EMS Paramedics, EMTs, Firefighters and Sheriffs Deputies, who through their skills
and knowledge, have successfully brought back to life individuals who had died.
