EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Discussion to consider the possibility of conducting a workshop in January 2012 with the
Collier County Board of County Commissioners, Emergency Medical Services, and the
Fire Chiefs from the three independent fire departments.
OBJECTIVE: The Board of County Commissioners to hold a workshop with representatives
from Emergency Management Services, North Naples Fire & Rescue, City of Marco Island and
City of Naples to discuss the potential issuance of a Certificate of Public Convenience and
Necessity (COPCN) to the North Naples Fire & Rescue District, City of Marco Island and the
City of Naples for pre - hospital emergency medical transport.
CONSIDERATIONS: Preliminary data will be provided to demonstrate the feasibility of
issuing the Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (COPCN) and showing how service
and fiscal responsibilities will be measured.
FISCAL IMPACT: None
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None
RECOMMENDATION: The Board of County Commissioners would agree to hold a
workshop as detailed and instruct the Executive Manager for the Board of County
Commissioners to schedule a date and time in- January for the workshop.
