Recommendation to adopt the Parks and Recreation Department Standard Operating Policy
"AT0012 Reserving Ballfields."
OBJECTIVE: To ensure a system is in place to provide for requests for recreational facilities in a fair
and consistent manner.
CONSIDERATIONS: As part of the Parks and Recreation Department's Standard Operating Policies
(SOP), "AT0012 Reserving Ballfields" has been in place since 2004. Recent constituent interest in
athletic field priorities resulted in the policy being reviewed and approved by the Parks and Recreation
Advisory Board on August 17, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT: Fees associated with rental of athletic fields are used to offset the costs to the
general fund for operation and maintenance costs associated with these facilities. This agenda
item has no fiscal impact.
GROWTH MA&AG IMPACT: Parks and Recreation Facilities are inventoried in the growth
management plan.
LEGAL COSIDEgA37ONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney's Office, requires
majority vote, and is legally sufficient for Board action. -CMG

POLICY:
NUMBER: AT0012
To describe the procedure for reserving Athletic facilities by organizations for games
and practices.
PROCEDURE:
A. Games and Practice field reservations
1. Co- sponsored leagues are scheduled for the entire season per the
co- sponsored league agreement.
2. Organized teams' games are scheduled up to one month in advance
n based on availability.
3. Practices (no lining of fields) may be scheduled up to one week in
advance.
4. Walk on participants must adhere to policy AT0015
B. General Procedures
1. Schedules will be maintained in the CLASS database system.
2. All fees will be in accordance with the Collier County Parks and
Recreation Facilities and Outdoor Areas License & Fee Policy.
C. Facility Priorities:
1. Programs or activities sponsored by the Collier County Parks and
Recreation Department will have first priority.
2. Programs or activities co- sponsored by the Collier County Parks and
Recreation Department will have second priority.
3. All other rentals will have third priority.
4. Walk on usage is on a first come first served basis.
