EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recognize revenue from Circuit Criminal Fines in the amount of $34,166.55, approve the
use of $25,000 of those Confiscated Trust Funds for support of Collier 211 Campaign, and
place the balance of $9,166.55 in Reserve for Contingencies.
OBJECTIVE: To seek appropriation of unbudgeted revenue in the amount of $34,166.55 from the
Confiscated Trust Fund and appropriate $25.000.00 for support of Collier 211 Campaign with the
remaining balance of $9.166.55 being placed in Reserve for Contingencies.
CONSIDERATION: The Community Foundation of Collier County by virtue of Section 932.7055 (5)
(c) 1 Florida Statutes is seeking Board authorization for the appropriation of funds for support of the
Collier 211 Campaign. The Community Foundation of Collier County has applied to the Sheriff for
appropriation. The CCSO requests Board approval to appropriate $25.000.00 to support the Community
Foundation of Collier County.
Some of the purposes of the Collier 211 Campaign are:
a. Connecting people in need to community resources.
b. Provides reliable information on service providers in Collier County to more than 300,000
citizens, and to businesses and government entities.
c. Provides information to persons released from incarceration about available services in the
community.
d. Reduce inappropriate calls to 9 -1 -1.
The CCSO requests $25.000.00 from the Confiscated Trust Fund to be used to support their purposes.
This support will benefit Collier County's community public safety mission.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is needed to recognize revenue from unbudgeted Circuit
Criminal Fines in the amount of $34,166.55, appropriate a remittance for the Community Foundation of
Collier County in the amount of $25.000.00, and to appropriate $9.166.55 in Reserve for Contingencies.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT: No recurring costs for subsequent years.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves the budget amendment
recognizing unbudgeted revenue in the amount of $34,166.55 and appropriating $25,000 of those funds
for support of Collier LAndrea aign &Fnance the balance of $9.166.55 being placed in Reserve for
Contingencies.

The cost to implement Collier 211 and fund the initial three years of operations is
$611,211. The Community Foundation and several community partners have committed

approximately $200,000 to start-up this service. We are seeking community partnerships

and individual donations to raise the additional $400,000 by December 2011. A ptan to

continue operations of Collier 211 will be developed as the program unfolds and is
evaluated. Several possible exit strategies have been identified.
