The Collier County Board of Commissioners is seeking applications for positions on several advisory
committees.
The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee currently has I vacancy, for a term that will expire on
October 1, 2013 the member will represent "labor active in home building". This is an 11 member
committee created by Ordinance 91-65 as amended to monitor the implementation of the Affordable
Housing Task Force's recommendations, and the goals, objectives, and policies of the Housing
Elements of the County's Growth Management Plan and the City's Comprehensive Plan Oetennine the
effect of proposed ordinances of affordable housing and make recommendations to the Board of
County Commissioners and the Naples City Council; and investigate any other relevant areas so
directed by the Board of County Commissioners. The Board of County Commissioners will appoint 9
members, including the alternate member, and one of those must be a resident oflmmokalee. The City
of Naples will appoint 2 members. Terms are 3 years,
The Airport Authority Advisory Board has 4 vacancies, 3 of the new terms expire August 10,2015,
one of these members must be a resident of Marco Island. The remaining vacancy is for a term to
expire August 10, 2013. Tbe 7 member Airport Authority Advisory Board was created by Ordinance
2010-11 and has the responsibility for the construction, improvement, equipment, development,
regulation, operation and maintenance of the airports and airport facilities. Members of the Authority
shall be residents of Collier County with business ability and experience in one or more fields which,
by way of example, may include, but are not limited to, general business, economic development,
aviation, public affairs, law, finance, accounting, engineering, natural resource conservation or other
related fields. There shall be at least I member of the Authority appointed from eacb of the
communities of Immokalce, Marco Island, and Everglades City if a qualified candidate who resides
within the respective area is available for appointment to the Authority. No person holding elected
office at the State, County, or Municipal level shall be appointed to, or be a member of, the Authority.
Members must file a Form 1 Statement of financial Interests each year with tbe Supervisor of
Elections.
Tbe Black Affairs Advisory Board has 4 vacancies. This 9 member board identifies and evaluates
concerns unique to the Black community, The board reviews and recommends ways to ensure open
communication between minorities and Collier County Government to help promote and foster better
understanding by Collier County Government of the challenges facing the minority community, The
board provides periodic reports to the Collier County Board of County Commissioners for review, and
may have joint meetings with the Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board, to evaluate common issues that
affect both the Hispanic and Black communities. The board meets on the fourth Monday of each

The Golden Gate Estates Land Trust Committee has I vacancy for a term that will expire on
October 13,2014, for applicants residing in Golden Gate Estates Units 21-22, 36-47, 52-53, 59-93 or
tbose units located south of Alligator Alley. This 5 member committee serves in an advisory capacity
to the Board of County Commissioners for the purpose of carrying out the requirements, conditions
and various provisions of an Agreement relating to the use of land, or funds derived from the sale of
land, conveyed to the County by Avatar Properties lnc. (1Jk/a GAC Properties lnc,). Applicants must
reside within the subdivision known as "Golden Gate Estates." Member selection may depend upon
location of residence witbin specific areas (phases) of the Estates, Terms are 4 years.
The Hispanic Affairs Advisory Committee has 2 ten11S expiring on June 25, 2011. This 9 member
board identifies and evaluates problems unique to the Hispanic Community, reviews and recommends
ways to ensure open communication between the minorities and Collier County Government and
provides periodic reports to the Board of County Commissioners. Terms are 4 years.
The Conservation Collier Land Acquisition Advisory Committee has a vacancy for a term expiring
on February 11, 2013. Tbis 9-member committee was created by Ordinance No, 2002-63 and their
primary responsibility is to recommend to the BCC an Active Properties Acquisition List with
qualified purchase recommendations of environmentally sensitive lands consistent with the goals ofthe
Conservation Collier Land Acquisition Program, Membersbip of the committee shall comprise broad
and balanced representation including environmental and conservation interests, agricultural and
business interests, educational interests, and general civic and citizen interests within the County.
Members shall have expertise, knowledge or interest in ecology, conservation of natural resources, real
estate or land acquisition, land appraisal, land management eco-tourism or environmental education,
Terms are 3 years.
Tbe Pclican Bay Sen'ices Division bas a vacancy and this term will expire on March 31, 2014. This
11 member Board was established by Ordinance 2002-27, as amended, to provide input to the Board of
County Commissioners in carrying out the purposes of the Pelican Bay Municipal Service Taxing and
Benefit Unit as set forth in the Ordinance: recommend to the BCC an itemized budget, work programs,
and priorities to tbe BCC in accordance with the adoptcd budgct or budget amendments. The board
will exercise decision and control of the day to day operational affairs of the Unit to the maximum
extent allowed by law, unless and exccpt when there is some overriding govemmental reason to do
otherwise.
The Rock Road Improvement MSTU Advisory Committee has 3 vacancies for this newly formed
committee, Tbe Board of County Commissioners at their meeting on June 14, 2011 amended
Ordinance No. 2006-56 and creatcd the Rock Road Improvement MSTU Advisory Committee, The
Committee shall consist of three (3) members who generally represent tbe area within the MSTU.
Members of the Committee sball be appointcd by and serve at thc pleasure of the Board of County
Commissioners. Two (2) members sball be permanent residents within the MSTU and electors of
Collier County, One (1) member may be an owner of rcsidential or commercial property within the
MSTU or an appointed representative of a business located within the MSTU or an appointed
represcntative of a business located within the MSTU and an elector of Collier County. An owner of
residential or commercial property may be an individual, an ot1icer of a corporation, or a partner of a
partncrship. The Board of County Commissioncrs shall consider appointment of members from
different parcels, subdivisions and/or thc communities witbin the MSTU. Initial appointments will be
two (2) members for tcrms of two (2) years, one (I) member shall be appointed for tbree (3) years,
