Wanda,
As you know there are unfilled seats on the Black Affairs Advisory Board (BAAB). However, the
BAAB has experienced quorum issues for the past several months and therefore have been
unable to review the applications and make recommendations for appointment.
An application for re -appointment was submitted by existing member Jennifer Williams. Ms.
Williams has served on the BAAB for several years and I can personally attest to the fact that
she is a valued member with good attendance.
Also, an application was submitted by Mr. Kerry Dera. I have reviewed Mr. Dera's application
and it appears that he meets all qualifications and I believe his membership will beneficial to the
group.
Therefore, it is my recommendation that the Board of County Commissioners re -appoints
Jennifer Williams and appoints Kerry Dera to four-year terms.
Thank you,
Mike Sheffield
