Weather Page 2 September 2, 2004 · Time Element · Tracking · School Closings · Diaster Response Trailer Units deployed to Shelters · Additional information signs on the Interstate · GIS department made maps available to incoming traffic · Civil Air Patrol · State's Mobile Command Unit to relocate to Collier County · Fire Service Teams (Forestry and Urban Search & Rescue Teams) · Nursing Homes inspections for need · Churches and other Buildings for use as additional shelters · Curfew issue will be discussed on Friday · CAT and Collier County Schools' Buses for use during evacuations · Chamber of Commerce to help in coordination of efforts · No garbage pickup on Saturday · Outreach to Immokalee area · Civil Emergency Message to go out (multi-lingual) · Collier Communication and Emergency Service to be in on-going 24-hour service until further notice · Available services extended to Charlotte and Lee Counties · In-Countv Residents: will affect NE Collier County and need to evacuate residents in mobile home and special needs to begin tomorrow at 10 a.m., Residents to the west of 951 should shelter in place and prepare for an extended shelter in place · Out-of-Countv Residents: Gulf Coast High School and Oakridge Middle School are staffed by the American Red Cross as shelters. Barron Collier is the Special Needs Shelter and will open tomorrow. · Other Shelters include: Lely High School, Golden Gate High School, Corkscrew Middle School, Immokalee High School, Immokalee Friendship House, and Village Oak Elementary Page 3 September 2, 2004 C. Actions requested 1) To activate CAT Transportation System without fees or charge 2) To waive the fee for EMS Transport to shelter for Special Needs residents 3) Open a new appropriation fund for Hurricane Frances with a $50,000 starting base D. Adoption of Proclamation/Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County to Declare a State of Emergency for All Territory Within the Legal Boundaries of Collier County including All Incorporated and Unincorporated Areas.
