EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
COMMISSIONER REQUEST FOR BOARD APPROVAL FOR PAYMENT TO ATTEND
FUNCTION SERVING A VALID PUBLIC PURPOSE.
OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners to declare a valid public purpose
for a Commissioner to attend function/event and approve payment by the Clerk.
CONSIDERATIONS: Pursuant to resolution No. 99-410, the Board of County
Commissioners has determined that attendance at the functions of fraternal, business,
environmental, educational, charitable, social, professional, trade, homeowners, ethnic,
and civic associations/organizations serves a valid public purpose, provided that said
functions reasonably relate to Collier County matters.
COMMISSIONER: Tom Henning
FUNCTION/EVENT: 12/08/201 O-Collier Building Industry Association, 2011 Installation
Dinner.
PUBLIC PURPOSE: Interact with local business, non-profit and government leaders
and constituents.
FISCAL IMPACT: $45.00 Funds to be paid from Commissioner's travel budget.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners, in accordance with
resolution No. 99-410, approve payment by the Clerk for Commissioner Henning to
attend function serving a valid public purpose.

service charge will be added to all invoices that have not been paid by the date of the event.
Contributions or gifts to Collier Building Industry Association are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. However,
dues payments are deductible by members as an ordinary and necessary business expense, subject to an exclusion for lobbying activities. Because a
portion of your dues is used for lobbying by NAHB, FHBA and CBIA, 15% of the total dues or $81.00 is not deductible for income tax purposes. CBIA
collects contributions from members for Collier Build-PAC to be used for election campaign purposes. Contributions are voluntary and refusal does not
affect membership rights in any way. A member may contribute more than the suggested amount. Thank you for your continued support of CBIA.
