I. Call to Order & Welcome
Brandon called the meeting to order at 6:07 p.m., a quorum was present. Brandon was thanked
everyone for attending the meeting and for their continuous support and commitment to the
BARB. Brandon gave a brief description of the last two meetings and its turn out.
II. Approval October 23, 2017 meetiniz minutes
Motion to approve: John Paul
Motion seconded: Brandon Cooper
Motion carries; Unanimously; 4-0
III. Old Business
Brandon stated that several members of the public attended the last meeting and expressed their
concern about changing the name of the BARB. He stated the importance of making a motion for
the board to move forward. He also explained the process if the name were to change which could
mean dissolving BAAB and each member would have to reapply for the new board.
A motion was made to keep the name of Black Affairs Advisory Board:

IV. New Business
The members discussed the new member application. All members felt that the new applicant had
great qualities. Members asked Maria to ask about holding off on approving new members until
more applications are received. No motion was made to approve the new applicant. Brandon also
mentioned the importance of a process to be put in place that would hold each member responsible
if they fail to communicate with the liaison to ensure they will attend each meeting. Maria also
explained that if it's a valid emergency, they can call in. Brandon asked Maria to find out how
long a member application is valid. Maria presented the Black Affairs Advisory board work plan.
Maria asked members to look at the plan and to bring back tasks to discuss at the next BAAB
meeting. All members 4-0 agreed to take on the Haitian Ballot. John Paul will lead this task. All
members also voted to approve the Black Affairs advisory board Meeting calendar with the
following changes April 23, 2018, the meeting is to be held at the BCC Chambers.
A motion was made to approve the Black Affairs Advisory Board 2018 Work Plan:

A motion was made to approve the Black Affairs Advisory Board Meeting Calendar with the
following changes April 23,2018 the meeting is to be held at the BCC Chambers:
