EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Appointment of members to Library Advisory Board OBJECTIVE: To appoint two members to the Library Advisory Board with terms expiring on December 31, 2016. CONSIDERATIONS: The Library Advisory Board has two vacancies representing Commission Districts 2 and 4 with terms expiring on December 31, 2012. This five member board acts on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners to establish policies of the Library Department including, but not limited to, policies relating to materials acquisition and circulation, collection development, and eligibility of individuals for library services. They also act in an advisory capacity to the Board of County Commissioners for all Library Department issues regarding the establishment of fees, the budget, capital planning, staffing levels, and other library related programs. A list of the current membership is included in the backup. Carla Grieve (District 2) and Doris Lewis (District 4) have terms that expire on December 31, 2012.
