EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Appointment of member(s) to Collier County Public Safety Authority OBJECTIVE: To appoint 3 Citizen Members to the Collier County Public Safety Authority with terms that will expire on July 2, 2016. CONSIDERATIONS: The ordinance creating the Collier County Public Safety Authority was approved by the Board of County Commissioners on June 26, 2012 and filed with the Florida Secretary of State on July 2, 2012. The intent of the ordinance was to fonn a seventeen (17) member Authority to address closer inter - agency collaboration and integration of the pre- hospital emergency medical services delivery system. And thereby assist the Board of County Commissioners, municipalities, and fire departments, law enforcement agencies, including the Collier County Sheriff's Office and hospitals, with issues affecting pre- hospital emergency services within all of Collier County. The first meeting of the Public Safety Authority is being planned for the beginning of October at which time applications for the three citizen members will be reviewed for recommendation to the Board. • press release was issued and applications received from the interested citizens listed below. • copy of the current membership is attached with the backup documents.
