A RESOLUTION OF THE COLLIER COUNTY BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONS AUTHORIZING THE PROPER
OFFICERS, OFFICIALS AND REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
COUNTY TO APPLY FOR A SPECIAL CATEGORY GRANT IN
THE AMOUNT OF FOUR HUNDRED SEVENTY-FIVE
THOUSAND FIFTY ($475,050) DOLLARS, FROM THE FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF STATE, DIVISION OF HISTORICAL
RESOURCES; AUTHORIZING THE USE OF THE GRANT
FUNDS TO STABILIZE AND RESTORE THE ROBERTS RANCH
HOME INCLUDING HISTORIC RESTORATION AND
REHABILITATION TO SUPPORT THIS USE; COMMITTING
SEVENTY TWO THOUSAND ($72,000) DOLLARS OF THE FUND
314 MUSEUM CAPITAL PROJECTS RESERVES TO COMPLY
WITH THE CASH MATCH REQUIREMENT OF THE GRANT;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners has been
advised that the Florida Department of State, Division of Historical Resources, is offering
Special Category Grants to units of government; and,
WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners acquired the
property known as "Roberts Ranch" to preserve this significant historical site and to
develop the historic Roberts Ranch home into a cultural museum focused on the
agricultural and pioneer history of southwest Florida; and,
WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners is proposing
the stabilization and rehabilitation of the Roberts Ranch home to support the continued
museum use with the available grant funding; and,
WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners is willing to
commit from the Museum Capital Projects Reserves Fund 314 the required cash "match"
in the amount of Seventy-two Thousand ($72,000) Dollars for the proposed grant request;
and,
WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners has determined
that it is in the best interests of the County and its citizens to apply for Special Category
Grant support.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County hereby authorizes
the proper officers, officials and representatives of the County to execute all documents
necessary to apply for a Special Category Grant in the amount of Four Hundred Seventy-

Five Thousand Fifty ($475,050) Dollars from the Florida Department of State, Division
of Historical Resources.
Section 2: That the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County hereby
acknowledges and agrees that it will use the requested grant funds for the stabilization
and rehabilitation of the Roberts Ranch home to support the intended cultural museum
use for the enjoyment of the public.
Section 3: That the Collier County Board of County Commissioners hereby
acknowledges that it will commit a required "match" no less than 25% of the grant
request amount including Seventy-Two Thousand ($72,000) Dollars from Museum
Capital Projects Reserves Fund 314 during the grant period beginning after July 1, 2019
and ending on June 30, 2021 to fulfill the match requirements of the grant.
Section 4: Effective Date. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption
by the Collier County Board of County Commissioners.
