EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation that the Board of County Commissioners approve the sixteenth year
SCAAP letter delegating authority to Sheriff Kevin Rambosk to be the official grant
applicant and contact person, or his designee, and to receive and expend the payment of the
sixteenth year of State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCARP) grant funds.
OBJECTIVE: To seek consent from the .Board of County Commissioners to delegate authority
to Sheriff Kevin Rambosk to apply for the sixteenth year of State Criminal Alien Assistance
Program (SCAAP) grant funds and sign a delegation of authority letter stating same.
CONSIDERATION: On June 15, 2011 the Board designated Sheriff Kevin Rambosk as the
applicant, signing official and contact person for the fifteenth year of State Criminal Alien
Assistance Program (SCAAP) funding. A letter delegating authority was signed by Chairman
Coyle in June 2011. Current Board approval is requested designating authority to Sheriff Kevin
Rambosk to be the official 2012 grant applicant and contact person, or his designee, and to
receive and expend the payment of sixteenth year SCAAP grant funds.
FISCAL IMPACT: The potential award of SCAAP funding is for costs associated with the
incarceration of aliens. The amount of grant funding is unknown but is based upon the number
of aliens incarcerated and the agency's associated corrections salary expenses between July 1,
2010 and June 30, 2011. This is an outright award with no required local match.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT: None
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, is legally
sufficient, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK

SCAAP letter delegating authority to Sheriff Kevin Rambosk to be the official grant applicant .
and contact person, or his designee, and to receive and expend the payment of sixteenth year
