EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to direct the County Manager, or his designee, to permit a 4 week
extension for submission of a Growth Management Plan Amendment application
affecting the Bayshore /Gateway Triangle Redevelopment Overlay, and other
associated provisions of the Future Land Use Element to the upcoming 2012 Collier
County Growth Management Plan amendment cycle.
OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) to direct the County
Manager, or his designee to permit a 4 week extension for submission of a Growth
Management Plan Amendment application affecting the Bayshore /Gateway Triangle
Redevelopment Overlay, and other associated provisions of the Future Land Use Element
to the upcoming 2012 Collier County Growth Management Plan amendment cycle.
CONSIDERATIONS: The proposed amendment will address the distribution of the
density pool consisting of a maximum of 388 dwelling units permitted to be utilized in
the Overlay for density bonuses which corresponds to the number of dwelling units
previously entitled to the botanical gardens site prior to their rezone. CRA staff met with
Comprehensive Planning. staff to discuss the proposed amendment and our desire to
submit a growth management plan amendment to the upcoming 2012 cycle and
Comprehensive Planning staff had no objections to the submission and request for
extension. The submittal deadline established in Resolution 97 -431, as amended, is the
fourth Friday in April (April 27, 2012).
If the BCC grants the extension the amendment application will be submitted to Collier
County staff and incorporated into the upcoming 2012 GMP amendment cycle during
which the amendment will be vetted through the required advertised public hearings
before the Collier County Planning Commission and BCC.
FISCAL IMPACT: The fiscal impact to the CRA will consist of existing staff time to
prepare and submit the amendment, and the applicable fees of $16,700, plus associated
advertising fees to be paid to Collier County.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This Executive Summary has been reviewed by the
County Attorney's office and is legally sufficient for Board Action. A majority vote is
required for approval. — STW
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: The amendment will be submitted and

hearings before the Collier County Planning Commission and BCC.
