EXECUTIVE SUMMARY APPOINTMENT OF MEMBER(S) TO THE COLLIER COUNTY HOUSING FINANCE AUTHORITY OBJECTIVE: To appoint 3 members to serve 4 year terms that will expire on September 11, 2015and 1 member to serve a 4 year term that will expire July 24, 2015 to the Housing Finance Authority. CONSIDERATIONS: The Housing Finance Authority had 4 terms that have expired. This 5 member authority was created by County Ordinance No. 80 -66 on July 29, 1980, pursuant to Chapter 159, Part IV, of the Florida Statutes as a governmental body authorized to issue tax exempt bonds. Not less than a majority of the members shall be knowledgeable in one of the following fields; labor, finance or commerce. Terms are 4 years. A list of the current membership is included in. the backup. The terms for Suzanne Bradach, Rayburn Cadwallader and George C. Mohlke, Jr. expired on September 11, 2011; the term for Gary D. Lind, George C. "Chuck" Mohlke, Suzanne Bradach, who have applied for reappointment, and Ray Cadwallader, who did not apply for reappointment. Mr. Robert Whitaker applied for this vacancy. I highly recommend the reappointment of Mr. Lind, Mr. Mohlke, and Ms. Bradach. All three have been members of the Authority for several years, and have served with distinction. Mr. Lind serves as our chairman, and brings his investment and financial knowledge, along with many years of service to the Authority. Mr. Mohlke serves as our secretary and brings to the Authority a wealth of civic involvement and perspective on our programs . Suzanne Bradach has many years of analyzing and structuring tax - exempt bond issues for the NCH Healthcare System and the Lee Memorial Healthcare System. All of these individuals bring to the Authority and the County a sincere and conflict-of-interest- free desire to serve our community. Their attendance records during their terms have been nearly perfect. Mr. Lind and Mr. Mohlke have not missed any meetings during thier years of service, and Ms. Bradach has only missed one meeting in her years of service. Mr. Whitaker, our prospective new member, brings a financial background, along with an affordable housing perspective as a result of his employment with Health Management Associates.
