OBJECTIVE: Replace the HUD FY2012-2013 Action Plan project description for the City of Naples

CONSIDERATIONS: The FY2012-2013 HUD Annual Action Plan was approved at the July 24, 2012
Board of County Commissioners meeting (Item#11E). The City of Naples identified a project to acquire

The Board approved project scope for the City of Naples is:
"The acquisition of a vacant parcel of property within the City's Community Redevelopment Area
(CRA) near the River Park Community Center on 5th Avenue North at the entrance to the FPL

with the seller and would not be purchasing the property. The City requested that it be allowed to
substitute another project for their entitlement funding.
The City submitted a new application identifying a new project utilizing CDBG funds. The new project is
described as:
"The project activity is to add (installation and construction of) a new Americans with Disabilities
Act (ADA) wheelchair accessible play structure (including shades, safety surfaces, installation,
permitting, etc) at one of the City's small play areas across the street from the River Park Community
